Behind the Steel Curtain on Drew Allar

Allar is positioned as Rodgers' backup; likely to play only if Rodgers is injured.

Drew Allar, a third-round rookie QB, made the Steelers' 53-man roster and is positioned as a potential replacement option for Aaron Rodgers. The Athletic's Chad Graff and Josh Kendall noted: "The best pick of this year's group may be third-round quarterback Drew Allar, who made the 53-man roster but probably won't play unless Aaron Rodgers gets hurt." Ralph Vacchiano (FOX Sports) similarly suggested that "at some point, the Steelers may have to take a look at rookie Drew Allar" given Rodgers' early-season struggles. Allar is currently a backup with limited playing time expectations unless Rodgers is injured or benched.
