Ward's pocket awareness and footwork issues limit ceiling; run-game reliance expected near-term.

Ceiling remains unknown; offense will rely on run game to move the football in the near term. Ward has two major hindering issues: tendency to leave a clean pocket (partially due to last season's poor offensive line forcing him to run for his life) and footwork when throwing, with a tendency to not set his feet, causing inaccurate throws. This footwork issue was supposed to be a major offseason emphasis but hasn't improved through two games. Brian Daboll's ability to coach him through this season will be key to determining how good the offense can be.
