The Bears and the Falcons played a lot of zone defense while lacking a strong pass rush. Those were the perfect scenarios for Young. Cleveland figured to play more man coverage, which is exactly the look Young struggles against.

Young's early success was matchup-dependent; treat as streamer, not weekly staple.

Bryce Young's first two weeks of success were matchup-dependent, not sustainable. Against the Bears and Falcons, who played zone defense with weak pass rush, Young thrived. Against Cleveland's man coverage in Week 3, he struggled despite 48 pass attempts and 291 yards (1 TD, 1 INT). Coventry did not recommend Young as a streaming option in Week 3 because Cleveland's coverage scheme is exactly the look Young struggles against. The lesson: follow matchup nuance, not raw volume numbers.
