STACKED’s take
Sadiq's 7-catch, 105-yard breakout with TD validates Jets' rebuild and future QB support.
Rookie tight end Sadiq delivered a true breakout performance against Detroit in Week 3, recording 7 catches for 105 yards and a spectacular 24-yard touchdown catch in the second quarter. The source emphasizes this performance is critical for the Jets' long-term rebuild: if Sadiq reaches his potential as a dynamic matchup nightmare, he and Garrett Wilson will form a one-two punch that can provide essential support to an inexperienced quarterback the Jets are likely to draft in 2027. The source also notes Sadiq was kept on a pitch count early in the season recovering from injury, making this game a significant step forward. The Jets acquired Sadiq's draft pick by trading away star players Sauce Gardner and Quinnen Williams, so early success validates the regime's rebuild strategy.
