Yahoo Sports NFL on Sione Vaki

Vaki's pass protection prowess earned increased snaps; not a one-dimensional player.

Vaki saw his snaps increase to 20 (31%) in Week 3 with 15 special teams snaps (65%), earning the uptick due to terrific pass protection against the Jets' A-gap blitzes; his ability to contribute in both run and pass game proved he is not just a one-trick player that will tip the offensive play call. Vaki emphasized his conscious aggression in pass protection, stating he knew he had to respond to Demario Davis's blitzing by 'stuffing my face in there,' and credited coach Tashard Choice and his preparation for his confidence growth.
