Jones stays with 49ers as Giants pursue McCarthy instead.

Mac Jones remains on the San Francisco 49ers' roster after the Giants opted to trade for J.J. McCarthy instead; Giants offensive coordinator Matt Nagy passed on Jones despite having the opportunity to draft him in 2021 with the Chicago Bears. Jones' trade market value remains unclear, though he was reportedly on the Giants' radar before they pivoted to McCarthy.
