The other argument that can be made is for Josh Rosen, who was also selected 10th overall and was traded the next season, but the Cardinals were able to get a second-round pick for him... I think it makes the McCarthy pick more egregious... with Rosen coming in 7th.

Rosen ranks 7th worst QB pick this century; Cardinals recovered 2nd-round pick on trade.

Rosen is ranked the 7th worst QB draft pick this century by the source. He was selected 10th overall and traded the next season, but the Cardinals were able to recover a 2nd-round pick in return. The source argues that because Arizona recouped more capital than Minnesota did for McCarthy (who was traded for a 5th-round pick), the McCarthy pick is more egregious despite both being 10th overall selections.
