Niners Nation on Mac Jones

Giants' McCarthy trade eliminates Mac Jones as a suitor; trade market remains uncertain.

Mac Jones was a potential trade candidate for the New York Giants, who explored multiple QB options including J.J. McCarthy, Jimmy Garoppolo, Justin Fields, and Gardner Minshew before ultimately acquiring McCarthy. With the Giants off the board, Jones' trade market narrows; he remains on the 49ers roster pending potential future interest from other QB-needy teams, likely requiring an injury or a team emerging as a contender.
