McCarthy traded by Vikings despite first-round pedigree and O'Connell fit.

J.J. McCarthy was traded away by the Vikings despite being a first-round QB paired with offensive coordinator Kevin O'Connell, whose system was expected to be ideal for his development; the trade indicates the relationship and fit between McCarthy and the Vikings organization deteriorated significantly, suggesting role/opportunity concerns prompted the move.
