Hogs Haven on David Blough
From the article
David Blough called an outstanding game. After taking advantage of the Seahawks' first turnover, Blough dialed up a fake swing pass in the second quarter that was in actuality a tunnel screen to Jaylin Lane, resulting in the first 20-plus yard play of the season allowed by the Seahawks defense.
STACKED’s take
Blough developing rapidly as OC; called outstanding game vs. elite Seahawks defense
Blough is developing rapidly as offensive coordinator. In Week 3 against the defending Super Bowl champion Seahawks, he called an outstanding game with a backup quarterback and depleted offensive line. He demonstrated mastery of play-calling with creative schemes (fake swing pass tunnel screen to Jaylin Lane for 20+ yards), strong time-of-possession management, commitment to the run and short passing game with occasional downfield shots, quick attacks after turnovers (three plays to score on 30-yard TD to Terry McLaurin after Sonny Styles' interception), and effective checks prepared for Marcus Mariota at the line. He also dialed up the read option for Mariota on third and long to seal the game.
