Pitts had a great block on Bijan Robinson's first rushing touchdown, and while his growth as a blocker has been needed, it isn't justifying his $53 million extension... We still haven't seen that translate to the field.

$53M extension not justified by production; blocking improved but receiving still lacking.

Pitts' $53 million extension is not justified by his production despite improved blocking. While his growth as a blocker has been needed, it hasn't translated to receiving production. Kevin Stefanski was hired partly for his ability to get tight ends the ball, but that hasn't materialized yet. Week 3 was the first game with a functional quarterback, so there's still time for production to increase, but if it doesn't, his role will be questioned.
