Hogs Haven on Marcus Mariota

Mariota starts for injured Daniels, delivers TD pass and clutch third-down run in upset win.

Backup quarterback Marcus Mariota started in place of injured Jayden Daniels and delivered a strong performance in Week 3 upset win over Seattle. Mariota threw a 30-yard touchdown pass to Terry McLaurin that gave Washington a two-touchdown lead in the third quarter; he also executed a successful read-option keeper on third-and-7 that gained nine yards and put the game away. His performance was strong enough that the Commanders can afford to exercise caution with Daniels's return from his second elbow dislocation.
