Stafford ranks 32nd in short-pass PFF grade; needs improvement in short game to rebound.

Stafford has objectively been one of the worst quarterbacks in football so far; he ranks 32nd in PFF passing grade on short passes (0-9 yards), completing 37 of 48 for 320 yards, 2 TDs, 1 INT, 0 big-time throws, and 2 turnover-worthy plays in this category. His 43.2% of attempts on short passes ranks 22nd among qualifying QBs, and his average depth of target of 3.9 yards on such plays ranks 30th. The source notes he is certainly better than current performance and will likely rebound at some point, but the short passing game has never been a strength under Sean McVay and needs to improve for LA's passing game to right the ship.
