Pride Of Detroit on Jahmyr Gibbs

Pass protection remains Gibbs' biggest growth area; coach won't tolerate liability.

Pass protection is a critical area of development for Gibbs. Lions running backs coach Tashard Choice emphasized that while backup Sione Vaki can take some carries and blows off Gibbs' shoulders, Gibbs cannot be a liability in pass protection. Choice stated: 'Jah has to block. At the end of the day, from me to him, that's the biggest thing. That's the growth.' This suggests Gibbs' pass-blocking deficiency is a limiting factor in his role expansion and a focus area for coaching staff.
