Stroud's declining performance doesn't justify $55M contract extension amid 0-3 start.
Stroud's performance trajectory has deteriorated significantly; after starting 15-8 with 26 TDs and 5 INTs over his first 23 games (101.7 passer rating), he posted 9-12 with 11 TDs and 9 INTs over the next 21 games (86.2 rating), followed by a seven-game winning streak (91.5 rating), but has now lost four straight games to start the 2026 season 0-3. USA Today's Nate Davis notes that despite being hindered by key offensive absences, Stroud does not look like a quarterback deserving of a $55 million-a-year contract extension. The Athletic's Chad Graff and Josh Kendall highlight his falling QB confidence amid the losing streak.
