Barner's post route was used to occupy the defense in a creative screen concept.

Barner was used in a creative play-action concept where his post route threatened a deep throw to occupy the defense toward the middle of the field, creating space for George Holani on a screen. This indicates he is part of Seattle's intermediate route concepts designed to create space for other receivers.
