Acme Packing Company on MarShawn Lloyd
From the article
Marshawn Lloyd has been the worst back in the NFL. He's, by NFL running back standards, blind. He's dead last in the NFL in rushing yards over expected.
STACKED’s take
Lloyd dead last in RYOE; vision issues make him worst RB in NFL despite scheme shift.
Marshawn Lloyd has been the worst running back in the NFL through the first three games. He is dead last in rushing yards over expected (RYOE) and second-worst in EPA-per-rush, with a 13th-worst success rate. His primary issue is vision—he cannot read his blocks and is essentially blind by NFL running back standards. Lloyd was terrible on zone runs at USC, which require vision, but adequate on gap scheme runs that pre-determine the hole. Even with the Packers' scheme change to gap scheme, Josh Jacobs says the team should consider replacing Lloyd with a practice squad alternative or waiting for Josh Jacobs' return, as Lloyd cannot provide even replacement-level running back performance.
