Turf Show Times on Jalen Hurts
From the article
Jalen Hurts carried the offense in the Eagles' first two games. He also had a good first half against the Bears before falling off the rest of the night... Saquon Barkley still looks pretty spry, so, maybe there's hope this unit can get back on track.
STACKED’s take
Hurts carrying offense with strong play but Eagles relying too heavily on his bail-out ability.
Hurts carried the Eagles offense in the first two games and had a strong first half against the Bears (10/13, 111 yards, 8.5 average, 0 TD, 0 INT, 101.8 passer rating, plus two carries for two yards and one rushing touchdown) before falling off in the second half. Bleeding Green Nation notes he was robbed of another touchdown opportunity when the concussion spotter pulled him from the game. The problem is the Eagles are relying on him too much, consistently getting into third-and-longs and asking Hurts to bail them out with high-leverage plays, which is not sustainable. However, Hurts has been good more often than not this season, and his quarterback play is a reason for optimism despite offensive inconsistency.
