Big Blue View on Cam Skattebo

Skattebo's downhill running style undermined by lateral red zone play design.

Cam Skattebo is a downhill runner with a powerful lower body but lacks the quickness and speed to outflank many defenders. Against the Titans, he was asked to run laterally in the red zone rather than attack vertically, which works against his strengths. The source criticizes the play design, noting that Skattebo had only one vertical run (up the middle) in nine red zone plays, and mystifyingly was used as a wildcat quarterback at one point.
