Yahoo Sports NFL on David Montgomery
From the article
Without Collins, I could see the need for more players with speed on the field to create big plays. So, Sunday will be Montgomery's first test. If Week 1 was how the Texans intend to run the offense, Montgomery should be back in the RB1 saddle with positive matchups against the Titans and Giants coming up.
STACKED’s take
Collins' return should open rushing lanes; Montgomery could reclaim RB1 role with favorable matchups.
Tommy Jaggi is willing to entertain the idea that Nico Collins' absence has changed OC Nick Caley's game plans, requiring more speed on the field to create big plays. Sunday (Week 4) will be Montgomery's first test with Collins back. Even with Dallas' defensive upgrade, a WR of Collins' caliber should stretch any defense, enabling more rushing lanes for Montgomery. Houston's run blocking is still an issue, but if Week 1 was how the Texans intend to run the offense, Montgomery should be back in the RB1 saddle with positive matchups against the Titans and Giants coming up. With signs he's still in control of the backfield, he can be trusted as a mid-range RB2 in the short term.
