From the article

Watson is playing decently enough that the defense is able to carry the team. Sit down and watch him play the quarterback position, and it's not as if Cleveland is benefiting from some individual brilliance. In fact, on the whole, Watson is mediocre, misses wide-open throws, and can't actually drive to win a game.

Negative signalProjection

Watson is mediocre; Browns' wins driven by defense, not his play.

Watson is mediocre as a quarterback; he misses wide-open throws and cannot actually drive to win a game. The Browns' recent victories are attributable to the defense carrying the team, not Watson's individual performance. He beat the Buccaneers because Baker Mayfield has declined, the Panthers because they were missing five starters, and the Steelers because Aaron Rodgers is washed. Watson is benefitting from the hard work of others rather than being the reason the team is winning.
