It all starts with his footwork. Paul Kuharsky wrote a great piece this week about the breakdown in Ward's footwork. We knew it was a problem last year. Ward's inconsistent footwork from play to play drives his up-and-down performance.

Ward's footwork has been inconsistent throughout his first 20 NFL games. Robert Saleh stated that Ward's footwork improves early in games but breaks down as the game progresses; however, the source observes no consistency in footwork from play to play at any point in the game. This mechanical breakdown is cited as the root cause of his up-and-down performance and is expected to continue until resolved.
