Vikings trade McCarthy to Giants for 5th-rounder; source calls it 'epic QB fail' and development collapse.

Vikings traded J.J. McCarthy to the Giants for a 2027 fifth-round pick, which the source describes as 'an admission' rather than a retool. The trade is framed as an 'epic QB fail,' with the source questioning the entire quarterback development pipeline and saying Kevin O'Connell's staff 'couldn't develop J.J. McCarthy.' The Vikings' 5-for-28 third-down conversion rate over two weeks is cited as evidence of offensive dysfunction.
