Cat Scratch Reader on Jared Goff

Goff picked apart Panthers defense but struggled in red zone coverage.

Goff had mixed results, with the Panthers defense deflecting a third-down pass in the first quarter to force a long field goal. He took a shot down field on the first play after the second-quarter kickoff that Jameson Williams caught for a 49-yard gain. In the fourth quarter, Goff 'continued to pick apart the Panthers ailing defense with little resistance' on intermediate completions, though he missed a couple of throws into tight coverage and had a batted ball at the line of scrimmage when the defense tightened up in the red zone.
