Positive signalProjection

Herbert's second-half groove hints at upside if simplified offense sticks.

Herbert showed glimpses of his pre-decline form during the Chargers' second-half comeback attempt against Seattle; once the offense was simplified by Mike McDaniel—removing motions and complex handoff techniques—Herbert sat in shotgun dissecting the defense effectively. Despite continued pressure, he made hero plays and moved the ball consistently downfield with receiver support, suggesting the simplified system may unlock better performance going forward.
