Matt Waldman on Roman Wilson
VideoCaptured October 6, 2026
From the video

he still doesn't get off press coverage all that well... his positioning on deep balls is not great... he's getting open in zone coverage, which is good... he's one of those guys that you can take off your bench and you can put in and hope that you hit on a big play... he's a viable third or fourth wide receiver in some games.

Viable bench WR3/4 in deep leagues; struggles with press and deep balls
Wilson is a better receiver than his draft hype suggested, but still struggles with press coverage and deep-ball positioning. He excels in zone coverage and can hit on big plays or touchdowns, making him a viable third or fourth wide receiver in some games. The source rates him as a buy in deep leagues, feel-it-or-skip in medium leagues, and skip in shallow leagues—not a primary or consistent weekly starter despite Aaron Rodgers' praise.
