Burrow threw 54 times due to run game failure; unsustainable volume risks turnovers.

Joe Burrow was forced to throw 54 times against Jacksonville's stellar defense due to the Bengals' nonexistent run game (23 yards on 15 attempts). After the loss, Burrow responded to questions about the run game with 'My response to that would be, let's throw it more'—a mindset the source argues is unsustainable in the NFL and will generate natural mistakes leading to turnovers. The source notes that Zac Taylor's offense spent significant offseason time developing a play-action/under-center scheme that has generated no results, making Sunday's game against Miami likely the last chance to make that work before reverting to shotgun-only offense.
