Bleeding Green Nation on Saquon Barkley

Bigsby's 19-yard runs from shotgun show offensive success with misdirection.

Bigsby gains 19 yards on a shotgun run in the fourth quarter where Bell, Drew Kendall, and Steen all do excellent work with misdirection; the tight end pulls back across the formation in the same direction as the receiver in the backfield, making the linebackers hesitate instead of charging downhill. The Eagles also lost another 19-yard Bigsby run earlier to a Mundt holding penalty, which came from the shotgun. The source suggests building around the things that work from the shotgun rather than the under-center stuff.
