Kaliakmanis shows confidence in debut; could start vs. Giants.

Athan Kaliakmanis made his NFL debut in a tough spot, completing 15 of 33 pass attempts for 186 yards and his first career touchdown pass while throwing his first career interception and taking just one sack. The biggest positive takeaway was his confidence; unlike most young quarterbacks in that situation who check the ball down underneath, Kaliakmanis was aggressive and more than happy to take shots down the field. Those aggressive shots gave the Commanders life and a chance at staying in the game. With Mariota likely to miss time and Jayden Daniels not guaranteed to be back this week, Kaliakmanis could be in line to start his first career game on Sunday against the Giants.
