Baker Mayfield

PositiveValue23:29

JJ Zachariason prefers Baker Mayfield over Geno Smith for Week 2, citing a 'revenge game' narrative and the Browns' pass-funnel defense that allowed 10.7 yards per attempt to Trevor Lawrence in Week 1.

Insight page

Brock Purdy

PositiveMatchup9:56

JJ Zachariason and Erickson agree that Purdy is a superior start to Joe Burrow in Week 2, noting Purdy has a favorable matchup against the Miami secondary.

Insight page

Bryce Young

NegativeBust30:44

Erickson expects Young to regress in Week 2 against the Falcons, noting that his Week 1 success was largely due to facing the Bears, and he expects a 'meh' performance moving forward.

Insight page

Carson Wentz

PositiveValue27:26

Erickson suggests Wentz as a viable Superflex option for Week 2 because the Bears defense is 'horrible' and likely to force a high-scoring, shootout environment.

Insight page

Colston Loveland

NegativeProjection0:20

Despite a disappointing 'nothing burger' performance in Week 1, JJ Zachariason notes that Loveland is still ranked as the TE2 on the FantasyPros ECR for Week 2.

Insight page

Dallas Goedert

PositiveUsage21:21

Andrew Erickson highlights Dallas Goedert as a top-four tight end, noting his 94.3% snap share and 75% route participation in Week 1. He remains Jalen Hurts' security blanket, especially with AJ Brown sidelined, and has outscored all other tight ends in points per game over the last five games.

Insight page
NegativeBust22:42

Pat Fitzmaurice is fading Dallas Goedert as a must-start, arguing that his Week 1 production was inflated by defensive breakdowns by the Commanders' secondary rather than sustainable elite performance.

Insight page

David Njoku

PositiveValue32:02

The analysts agree that David Njoku is a preferred start over Greg Dulcich, especially if Ladd McConkey is inactive for the Raiders game.

Insight page

George Kittle

PositiveMatchup24:13

Pat Fitzmaurice ranks George Kittle as his TE7, citing a favorable matchup against a weak Dolphins secondary and the expectation of increased snaps as he recovers from an Achilles injury.

Insight page
NegativeUsage24:47

Andrew Erickson notes George Kittle's shaky floor due to limited usage (38% route participation in Week 1) and blocking duties, though he acknowledges Kittle's massive ceiling and willingness to chase that upside over waiver-wire options.

Insight page

Harold Fannin

NegativeProjection27:43

Andrew Erickson ranks Harold Fannin as his TE8, expecting a bounce-back in volume against the Buccaneers, while Pat Fitzmaurice prefers waiting for a quarterback change before trusting him.

Insight page

Joe Burrow

NegativeProjection8:19

Erickson is lower on Burrow (QB14) than ECR (QB8) for Week 2, citing a tough matchup against a Texans defense looking to bounce back and the fact that Burrow provides no rushing value.

Insight page

Kyle Pitts

PositiveBust28:50

Pat Fitzmaurice and Andrew Erickson are avoiding Kyle Pitts, citing his 4.5% target share and poor quarterback play, preferring to stream other options until the Falcons' offense improves.

Insight page

Malik Willis

PositiveValue30:44

Erickson and JJ Zachariason prefer Malik Willis over Bryce Young for Week 2, citing Willis's rushing floor as a mid-range QB2 even in difficult matchups.

Insight page

Mark Andrews

NegativeProjection27:46

Andrew Erickson views Mark Andrews as a capped asset who relies on touchdowns for top-12 value, though he notes Andrews remains a low-end starter due to the Ravens' lack of receiving depth.

Insight page

Trey McBride

PositiveBreakout2:19

JJ Zachariason highlights McBride as the exception to the early-season tight end busts, noting he is a 'monster performer' who provides a weekly advantage.

Insight page
PositiveProjection20:18

JJ Zachariason ranks Trey McBride as the number one tight end for Week 2.

0:04Grainger, for the ones who get it done. What to do at Tight End, because yuck.
0:09So we're going to deal with all the yuck here in just a tiny bit.
0:13What is yuckier, Fitz, quarterback or tight end right now?
0:16And why is it clearly tight end? It's tight end.
0:20And not that I expect Colston Loveland to be blanked anymore, but we don't have a healthy Brock Bowers.
0:25We've got some other issues there. Yeah, I thought the tight end renaissance was underway.
0:30And it seems like we always get rug pulled at tight end every year.
0:34Every time we think it's deep, it's not deep.
0:37It's not deep. It's not deep. Well, then there's like a Gesicki and everyone's like, well, it is deep because Gesicki.
0:43And then it's just like, okay, well, Jamar Chase was like shut out practically.
0:48So there's that. But I will say funny when you think about like for us in ranking, you know, because there's an
0:54algorithm to the ranking accuracy contest we do. I don't know what was more screwy.
0:59I think quarterback was more screwy this week because you had like lower in guys jumping in than it was.
1:05I mean, tight end was bad. Loveland was a nothing burger.
1:08Gesicki jumped up. But if I had to take a look at it, I kind of feel like quarterback might've been a
1:15little bit more screwy more from a rank perspective, Erickson, because like the court, mostly the quarterbacks that you were looking to
1:22perform outside of Stafford, like the top 15 guys were kind of like top 15 guys in some type of order.
1:28Any thoughts on the quarterback and tight end values coming out of week one?
1:32Just a reminder that as gravitating as it is and alluring as it is to take the sexy elite tight end, a
1:39lot of them bust is what we saw early in week one, except for Trey McBride.
1:44And that late round tight end hits every single year by clockwork.
1:48Every single year you see Isaiah Likely breaking out, you see Dalton Kincaid liking out.
1:52So it feels good when you draft someone like a Trey McBride and he hits in week one and you're like, okay, I'm so set.
2:00He's got him. I have a monster performer. That's going to give me an advantage every single week.
2:05But then you look and see where you could have got certain these values and same thing with quarterback, right?
2:12Josh Allen mega smash in week one, but all the late round quarterbacks too.
2:16A lot of them had monster performances. Caleb Williams, Trevor Lawrence, Jackson Dart.
2:20Just so you ready for this position. So check this out the top 12 at both positions.
2:25So but I'm only going to give you the crazy ones.
2:28So in the top 12 quarterback finishes for week one, Bryce Young was third.
2:33So hello. Tyler Shuck was six. Carson Wentz was 12.
2:36So those are some especially the Carson Wentz one.
2:38That was a non expected. And if you want to throw it in like Jacoby Brissett, Malik Willis, those were both top 15 guys.
2:46But then now check out the tight ends in how this worked.
2:49Isaiah likely was number one. Mike is sick. He was for Kincaid was five.
2:54Pat Friermuth was seven. Evan Ingram was eight. TJ Hawkinson was nine.
2:57Cole commit at 10. Noah Fanta at 11 and Kenyan Sadiq at 12.
3:01Okay. Nevermind. Tight end was wildly all over the board.
3:04So those are the finishes from this week. That doesn't make it deep.
3:08Like you said, though, Fitzy, doesn't make it deep at all, but it just makes it chaotic.
3:13Can I make a quick point about those quarterbacks you mentioned?
3:17Bryce Young, Tyler Shuck. And who was the other?
3:20Carson Wentz. Carson Wentz. You know what those three quarterbacks had in common?
3:24They were all going up drafted. They were all going up against NFC North defenses, not coordinated by Brian Flores.
3:30The next three weeks. You're going to tell us.
3:32Let's hear. Gino Smith. No, I just picked him up in a league to stream where I had Kyler Murray.
3:38No, we're going to do the G. We might have to do the Gino Smith thing.
3:43So that's how those finished. Let's see what that is to the ranks.
3:47I think Fitzy, you might have just live given us a quarterback that we might have to look at that feels gross,
3:54but we're going to go more gross quarterbacks here in just a tiny bit.
3:58Erickson's willing to really throw down a nasty name that we might need to talk about because of matchups, but Gino's pretty bad.
4:05So we are going to go through the top 12 quarterback ranks on fantasy pros ECR.
4:10Then we'll do the tight ends. We'll pick a few names that are out there.
4:15If you guys want to follow along, go to fantasypros.com slash rankings.
4:18You can see how everybody, all the consensus ranks are going to put out these players as far as, as far as
4:25starts in Cisco know that they changed throughout the week.
4:28Of course, let's go to quarterbacks quarterback big board this week.
4:32We've got Josh Allen in the number one spot against Detroit.
4:35We've got Lamar Jackson, Caleb Williams coming in at three.
4:38Jalen hurts it for Dak Prescott and Jaden Daniels is your top six at quarterback.
4:43The bottom half Brock Purdy jumping up to seven Joe Burrow down at eight.
4:47Justin Herbert at nine, Trevor Lawrence at 10, Drake may all the way down at 11 to some bottom eight or 10 rankings for the back-to-back weeks.
4:55And then Jared Goff is at 12. So let's start with Joe Burrow.
4:59I think Joe Burrow stands out. It's a, again, and we keep saying like rough matchup against Houston, but we saw what happened last week.
5:07He comes in as the eighth starting quarterback with a two star rating ECR eight Fitzy.
5:12You agree. So let's start there. You agree. He is a not the greatest matchup in the world, but you're still playing him.
5:19I am worried that the Texans are going to come out absolutely breathing fire this game after being embarrassed by Josh Allen last week.
5:26That is a concern. So Joe Burrow, not a top five quarterback, but it's Joe Burrow and he has Jamar Chase and T Higgins.
5:33So there's only so far. I feel like I can drop him and people who dropped Josh Allen in the rankings last
5:40week, like me, for instance, putting him at QB four, QB five instead of his normal QB one perch made to look bad.
5:47So I'm a little worried about making that mistake twice.
5:50Although I do think there is a chance that we see the Texans defense just completely smother Cincinnati this week.
5:56The only quarterback that really like justifiably moves their Fitzy is like Purdy.
6:00Like all the other guys are just kind of like relative, like top six or seven guys.
6:05But like, do you co-sign that you would start Brock Purdy over Joe Burrow?
6:10I'm not looking at your rank, but ECR says Purdy over Burrow.
6:13Oh yeah. Purdy is sailing downwind with his matchup against Miami in that secondary and fierce headwinds for Joe Burrow against the Texans.
6:20Fitzy is finding a spot to still start Joe Burrow.
6:23Erickson is not QB 14 on the list this week.
6:26So Erickson, you are co-signing that Houston defense is going to come out banging and it might be another week where Joe Burrow can't find Jamar Chase.
6:35Not necessarily. I'm probably hedging a little bit because I didn't really move Jamar Chase down in my ranking.
6:40Because interesting, I don't think when we did the wide receiver, Jamar Chase is not wide receiver one in ECR.
6:46Despite the fact that we saw the Texans defense give up a lot of production to DJ Moore and Dalton Kincaid as pass catchers.
6:54And I think four. Yeah. So I think that's kind of interesting where the consensus number one wide receiver has one bad
7:00week, which he has a bad one week, one week, every week, every year.
7:05Essentially Jamar Chase always sucks in week one and then usually bounces back.
7:09So not necessarily burying Jamar Chase in any way, shape or form.
7:12But if you just look at the Bengals 19th highest implied team total this week, Joe Burrow is a pocket passer.
7:19He does not add a lot of value or at all with his legs.
7:23So it has to be through touchdown and passing production.
7:26And I think that willing to give the Texans defense a mulligan, right?
7:30They face Josh Allen going Superman mode where he added a ton of value to in that game with his legs.
7:36It was a lot of downfield plays that I think the Texans had opportunities for interceptions, for turnovers, and they fell flat.
7:43And Josh Allen made him pay when they gave him extra opportunities.
7:47So I don't think that they'll play as bad to fit Fitz's point that they're going to be.
7:52They're looking their wounds. They want to bounce back.
7:55I think they'll be able to do that here against Joe Burrow.
7:59So if you just look at the projections, they agree with me.
8:02He's QB 16 and the projections which are obviously driven a little bit by what the implied team totals are.
8:09So that's why I'm a little bit lower on Joe Burrow.
8:12When I look at the other guys in his tier with him, I'd rather start Trevor Lawrence.
8:17He's calling off a monster game. I've already seen him dice up the Broncos defense that hardly looks very scary after what
8:24we saw from them on Monday night. I would rather start Drake May at home.
8:28He adds rushing mobility. Jane Daniels, rusher against Dallas Cowboys.
8:31Dak against the Commanders. And then I'm starting Baker Mayfield against the Browns.
8:35Like you can't talk me out of that. So I'm not saying that you should drop Joe Burrow for Baker Mayfield because they're in the same tier.
8:44But I think when I look at the rankings and the standings after the week two dust has settled, I think Burrow
8:50is going to probably outside the top 12. Give me a graphic of that.
8:55Baker Mayfield greater than Joe Burrow for week two.
8:57There's your angry comment short of the week, guys.
9:00Just letting everybody know this is your big, your guys biggest discrepancy.
9:04I think Jackson Dart, Jackson Dart actually is not on this list.
9:07He comes in at 13 and you guys are on wildly different ends because Fitzy, you are actually lower than ECR putting him at 15.
9:15Maybe you've changed. I don't know. But Erickson top five, top five quarterback for you this week, Jackson Dart.
9:21So please, he didn't even make the top 12 list on here.
9:24You're clearly starting Jackson Dart over Joe Burrow as well.
9:28So sell us on Dart. I'm always wrong about this guy.
9:31I've been low on him last week included, and I was wrong again.
9:35He made me eat it. He looked like he was in full command of this offense entering his second season and 23
9:42of 29, 230 yards, three touchdowns, five scrambles for 34 yards, basically doing everything we want from a fantasy quarterback.
9:48Being efficient, being accurate, rushing touchdowns, three touchdowns, zero interceptions.
9:51Youngest player to do that in a week one primetime game per next gen stats.
9:55So I think that he's slated to just continue on his ascend as a fantasy football darling quarterback.
10:01And the fact that he's QB 13, he's not even a top 12 quarterback when he has all the ingredients in a
10:08potential shootout against the Los Angeles Rams who have to get their offense going.
10:12That won't be without Miles Garrett, a mobile quarterback in a dome.
10:15Yeah, they're on the road, but we know that the Rams don't actually have a home field advantage.
10:21If you look at the road games last year for Jackson Dart at New Orleans, 17.6 points at Denver, almost 30 points
10:28at the Eagles, 19 points at the Bears, 26 points at New England, 13 points.
10:32That was his one down game at the Raiders, 25 points like Jackson Dart just produces fantasy points.
10:38And I don't understand. I mean, I guess I do because I was one of these skeptics of him even last year,
10:44too, where I'm like, man, he's on the road at Denver.
10:48I don't feel good about Dart. He's on the road against Eagles.
10:51I don't feel good about Dart. And then what does he do?
10:55Scores 25 fantasy points every single time. And that's what he did in week one.
11:00And I think it's going to continue, especially with Malik neighbors, fully healthy and ready to go in a dome mobile quarterback.
11:06Come on, top five quarterback. Well, Fitzy, Erickson's always wrong.
11:09So you're on the right side of the rule at 15.
11:13You are not as optimistic about Jackson Dart at QB 15.
11:16Yeah, I talked at the top of the running back show about things we got wrong or things that surprised us in week one.
11:23And for me, it was Jackson Dart and how good he looked against Dallas.
11:28And I had kind of been fading him in my rankings and it cost me.
11:32And now I'm fading him again. I'm behind ECR.
11:35And like, it's just I guess I need to see it twice.
11:39Well, the other thing this is like a deep into the weeds thing, but like the Rams played a lot more zone
11:45defense in week one than I was expecting. They were in zone like 78 percent of the time against the Niners.
11:52And if they continue to be that zone heavy against the Giants, it should, at least in theory, limit what Dart is
11:59able to do as a runner because the Rams will have eyes on the quarterback at all times.
12:04But we'll see about that. I mean, maybe they play less zone.
12:08And I'll probably wind up feeling bad about having Jackson Dart rank too low again when we do the show a week from now.
12:15You bought a sofa you didn't have to assemble.
12:18A suit someone measured just for you. And now you're taking a guy's trip that actually matters.
12:23You've upgraded a few things in life. So why are you still running with rough nicotine pouches?

12:49I just dropped a video call, uploading this giant file on my tablet, licking my watch go bananas with the group chat,
12:55and of course, still lining up tonight's playlist on my phone.

13:49Okay, so I wanted, these are like the deeper quarterback plays here.
13:53As we're, you know, the big guys are the big guys.
13:56I just want to ask this real quick, because we originally had Baker Mayfield on.
14:01I was going to take him off because Erickson's already talked about him.
14:05Baker's got him as a 13. This is a question for you, Fitzy.
14:09You brought up Gino. Gino or Baker this week?
14:11And if it is Baker, regardless, I just want to know where you have Gino when we're talking about some of these deep quarterbacks.
14:19Oh, it has to be Baker with the revenge game.
14:22Not only the revenge game, but the Browns, probably a pass-fennel defense, and Trevor Lawrence averaged 10.7 yards per attempt against them
14:28in week one and had four touchdowns and no interceptions.
14:31So yeah, it has to be Baker. I'm still ranking Gino somewhat conservatively this week.
14:36I've got him at quarterback 24. Okay. Behind or ahead of Tyler Shuck.
14:40Two spots behind. I don't know if I'm doing Shuck this week.
14:44It is a tough matchup for Shuck. Like, because, I mean, he was so bad for three and a half quarters of that Lions game.
14:51And that Lions defense is not good. And he was bad against it.
14:55And he plays a Ravens defense that generated something close to a 50% passer pressure rate against Daniel Jones in week one.
15:02Yeah, I guess. Dare I say buns of the week quarterback?
15:05Well, I'm afraid that, because I think that a lot of people are going to look at Tyler Shuck and be like, dude, QB6 last week.
15:13Gotta start him. But I'm like, dude. You might.
15:16Yeah, it might be a trap. I'm terrified because there are also other options where it's like a Gino.
15:22Like you pointed out, like you pick up Gino.
15:25That's such an astute point you made where, dude, you can pick him up, ride him for the next three weeks if you're hurting a quarterback.
15:32Don't play this Tyler Shuck game potentially if he lays a frigging turd against the Ravens in week two.
15:38And then Carson Wentz, right? Dude, the Bears is the gift that keeps on giving to opposing quarterbacks.
15:44Like that's what it's going to be this season.
15:47So I think I'm opting for those other options to stream.
15:50Well, that's where we were going to go with was Carson Wentz.
15:54So I just want to throw this out and you guys can, you guys are doing a great job of intertwining all these.
16:01But Carson Wentz, ECR 24, you guys both have them at, not that you're like resoundingly hammering the table or anything, but you got them at 23.
16:09But Wentz, Shuck, Gino. Put that rank out there.
16:12This is probably more of a super flex thing.
16:14Fitzy, what does that rank look like for you?
16:17Right now I've got Shuck 22, Wentz 23, Gino 24.
16:20But like Erickson was making all these Star Wars references in one of our other ranking shows this week.
16:26This does feel like the Star Wars meme, it's a trap.
16:29With Tyler Shuck, it does feel like a trap.
16:32And plus the Bears. That's not a quarterback. That's a trap.
16:35All right, go ahead. The Bears defense is like Christmas morning for opposing offenses.
16:40Like why am I putting, why am I putting Carson Wentz against the Bears lower than Tyler Shuck against the Ravens?
16:46And that was the topic of conversation before we started the show, Erickson, that like as gross as it feels, Carson Wentz
16:53might be, it's not a single quarterback play unless you play in a 24 quarterback league or 24 league.
16:59But like in a super flex, Carson Wentz, there might be something there as far as wanting to start him in that capacity this week for you, Erickson.
17:07Yeah, I think that the Bears defense is absolutely horrible.
17:10We thought it was going to be horrible and it might be worse than we even thought.
17:15The fact that they gave up so many points to the Carolina Panthers, the fact that their offense has to score so
17:22many points, you're just going to get shootout game environments.
17:25And Carson Wentz is one of these Jameis Winston type of quarterbacks where he's just going to sling it, man.
17:31Especially with Jordan Mason dealing with a thumb injury.
17:34Are they going to be able to run the football effectively?
17:37Wentz also adds mobility and value with his legs.
17:40He's not afraid to also run the football as well.
17:43So I think that puts him slightly over Gino Smith for me because Gino's not going to do anything on the ground.
17:50But in terms of the long-term outlook, again, credit to Fitzy for looking at this.
17:54The fact that Gino is set up not just this week, but the following week and the following week, if you need
18:01a long-term starter for the next couple weeks, Gino seems like your guy because Carson Wentz might only be a one-week rental
18:08because you could see Kyle Murray return after this week from his concussion.
18:12Whereas it's going to be, of course, Kyle is going to miss the one game where this Vikings offense is going to
18:18go absolutely nuclear through the passing because he doesn't get to face the Bears.
18:23This is just a quick sentence or just you can pick the name last battle because I want to go to tight ends.
18:30Malik Willis, who finished top 15 and Bryce Young, who finished top 12.
18:34I think it was. They are both ranked pretty poorly this week with Bryce Young coming in at 21, Malik Willis at 22.
18:41Who would you rather, Erickson, Malik Willis, or Bryce Young this week?
18:44I'm going to go with Malik Willis. I think that we're going to see Bryce Young probably come back down to earth
18:51because he's not facing the Chicago Bears. I think that's going to be a trend this year where you're going to see
18:58quarterbacks go burr, go explode against Chicago and then the following week just kind of be eh.
19:03It happened last year when teams would face the Dallas Cowboys, just put up these monster performances.
19:08I called it the lasso lag and then the next week they would just kind of be meh.
19:14So I'm expecting more of a meh performance from Bryce Young this week even against the Falcons.
19:19I mean, their defense at least kept them kind of in that game against the Pittsburgh Steelers.
19:24Aaron Rodgers didn't light up the world, especially with him attacking downfield so often.
19:28He wasn't really connecting on a lot of his deep passes.
19:32So I will go with Malik Willis and just take the rushing.
19:35You're getting an F on the paper. That was the biggest run-on sentence in the history of run-on sentence.
19:41Have you met me? I said a sentence. Have you read my articles?
19:45Put a period in there. Come on. No, I know.
19:48I'm just giving you a credit. Fitzy, Willis or Bryce Young?
19:52Yeah, Bryce Young is not going to look like Tom Brady again against the Falcons.
19:56The Falcons actually have a good secondary. It's just their pass rush that's kind of iffy.
20:01So Malik Willis, I mean, you get that rushing floor every week.
20:05I think he's, at worst, even in tough matchups, Malik Willis is going to be like a mid-range QB2.
20:10And he's below Bryce Young in the ECR. All right, let's go over to tight ends.
20:15Tight ends on the top 12, the big board.
20:18We got Trey McBride with the number one spot this week.
20:21Colston Loveland coming in at two, even after the donut.
20:24Tyler Warren at three. Tucker Craft at four. Dalton Kincaid jumping up to five.
20:29And Sam Laporta at six. In the back half is Dallas Goddard, Isaiah Likely at eight.
20:34George Kittle, Mark Andrews at ten. What are we doing?
20:37Travis Kelsey and Juwan Johnson at twelve. Dallas Goddard, you guys have a big difference.
20:41ECR is seven. Fitzy, you are quite a bit lower at eleven.
20:45I guess he's still like a tight end, a starting tight end.
20:49And Erickson, you're insane. You've got him at four.
20:51So you're all in. So Erickson, why don't you start it off top four tight end for you?
20:57Insane is probably not fair because I think we talked about it in the preseason, dude.
21:02How do these guys, the with or without tool we have here on Fantasy Pros, like how does Dallas Goddard perform without A.J.
21:09Brown? Okay. We see exactly how it is and it's going to continue on.
21:13So I get the logic of like continuously buying in on Goddard, but talk to us about him for you as a top four tight end.
21:21He just continues to be Jalen Hurts' security blanket and go-to guy in the red zone.
21:26I was concerned about what his red zone role would be after they changed the office of coordinator this offseason, but if
21:33week one is a signal for the rest of the season, then it's going to be plenty of Dallas Goddard in the red zone down the scene.
21:41Last five games dating back to last season, the only player at tight end that has more points per game than Dallas Goddard is Trey McBride.
21:49So this dude is continuing to smash. I know that a lot of it is touchdown dependent, but it's not like his role in this offense is bad.
21:57He played 94.3% of the snaps tied for the team high ranked second among all tight ends in week one, 75% route participation.
22:04So he's running the majority of routes. He's playing almost every single snap and Hurts is always looking for him.
22:10He's been hyper targeted on the field when AJ Brown has not been part of this offense and he's not going to
22:17be part of this offense in week two. So I think you just continue to ride Dallas Goddard as a strong fantasy tight end.
22:24Obviously, I get that the touchdowns aren't going to happen every single week, but when you look at this matchup against the
22:31Tennessee Titans, yeah, like I think that Dallas Goddard has a really strong chance of scoring.
22:36So I'm going to continue to ride the DJ train.
22:39Fitzy, when I said Dallas Goddard in the rank, you wince like you were in pain.
22:44Did I pain you with audibly saying the rank and do you feel like it needs to change or do you have a negative case on Dallas Goddard?
22:52I mean, if you watch the two touchdowns he had, like the stat line was great, four catches, 77 yards, two touchdowns.
22:59If you watch those two touchdowns, one was a 43-yard catch and run where it was just keystone cops by the defensive
23:06backfield for the commanders where it was just like Dallas Goddard just makes one move and like three guys go the wrong
23:13way past him and Dallas Goddard just like plods 40 yards for a touchdown after that.
23:17The other one was like, you might want to cover that big guy running wide open downfield.
23:23Just complete breakdowns by the commanders secondary on both of those plays.
23:26So I'm kind of fading the idea that Goddard is some like must start tight end after, you know, defensive breakdowns led
23:33to two pretty long touchdowns from last week. Well, you're both starting Goddard over this next guy.
23:38Speaking of fades, you guys are fading George Kittle who comes in as tight end nine on this list.
23:44You guys have both got him at 13. So not a starting tight end.
23:48He wasn't used a whole lot, but then the secondary pieces ton just is banged up and they were, I think they
23:55made a trade for a tight end. So whether that leads to more Kittle or not in his kind of recovery fits you.
24:02What's your take on this? No starting tight end for you for George Kittle against the Dolphins.
24:07It's actually, I do have him inside the tight.
24:10I might have put that wrong. Yeah, you have a 13.
24:13Sorry about that. I've got him at tight end seven.
24:16Actually, I love this match up for Kittle. So I'm in on Kittle this week.
24:21Welsh, the Miami secondary is just bad safeties, both like the safeties for the Dolphins had started three games combined going into this year.
24:28And Kittle played limited snaps last week. Not surprising giving it given that it was his first game off an Achilles tear
24:35and that the game was in Australia. So maybe there are more snaps coming this week and it's a great matchup for him.
24:42All right, Erickson, do you hate Kittle still or did you also make a change?
24:47Where are you at? I think I'm lower, but I'm probably going to have to move him up.
24:52Mentioning the Tongass injury and the fact that we know George Kittle has a tight end one overall in the week type
24:59of ceiling, even when he's playing 50% of the snaps.
25:02So I think there is a lot of risk with Kittle just because we don't know how much his role is going to change.
25:09Again, in week one, he only ran 13 routes.
25:12He did have five targets, but 30 snaps, 38% route participation, 50% snaps, like I said, but doing a lot of the blocking, right?
25:19So clearly he is healthy, which is good, but how much are they going to involve him in the game plan when
25:26you look at this matchup against Miami and the 49ers can basically decide we can beat this team however we choose, right?
25:33Kyle Shannon can just, right guys, who wants to score three touchdowns this week?
25:37Like that's basically what the scenario is. And will George Kittle be the name that they take out of the hat?
25:43I guess I would probably lean towards no, but that being said, I would not be surprised if Kittle does have a
25:50monster game because he does this from time to time.
25:53So I think from an upside standpoint, I do think I probably need to move him up my rankings, but I do
26:00think that the floor is kind of shaky. But then again, most tight ends don't have good floors anyway.
26:06So I think if you're asking me a scenario where Kittle or waiver wire tight I'm going with Kittle.
26:11I'll just chase the ceiling and go with that.
26:14But I do think that there is the floor is not as high as some of these other tight ends ahead of him.
26:21Floor is lava. Interesting perspective because takes us to the last tight end, but we got to jumble a couple names in here.
26:28I get it. You guys got Mark Andrews higher.
26:31He comes in at 10. I believe you, Erickson, you're a tiny bit lower, Fitz, you're a little bit higher.
26:37So I want you to talk. You got six targets last week.
26:41That was nice. You get some first read shares.
26:43What I want to point out is an obvious thing that people are looking at on here, and I didn't say right off the top.
26:51There are two pretty key names missing from this tight end list that were drafted pretty high.
26:56Kyle Pitts and Harold Fannin. They're not in the top 12 this week.
27:00Fannin comes in at 13, but Kyle Pitts plummeted to 16 on this list.
27:05Now, Erickson, we can start with you then. I just want to get your take on Pitts and Fannin versus a Mark Andrews.
27:12You're a little bit lower on Andrews at 12, but I know Cooper Rush couldn't get the ball to Kyle Pitts.
27:18If two is in, does that change with Kyle Pitts?
27:21And you're talking about ceiling. Yes, it was a nothing burger, but the ceiling would clearly go to guys like Pitts and Fannin over a guy like Andrews.
27:30We know what Andrews is capped at. It's going to be like four catches, and if he catches a touchdown or not,
27:36he's not going to get that heavy volume. So think about that from a perspective, and then Andrews versus both Fannin and Pitts.
27:43Fannin I'm happy to go back to this week.
27:46He's tight end eight for me. I think that he has a better game script potentially for volume.
27:51They didn't use him at all last week, which is just kind of like bizarre.
27:56I think that he's just going to see more targets and volume against the Buccaneers pass funnel defense.
28:02So I'm willing to go back to Fannin as a low-end fantasy tight end one.
28:06Mark Andrews, to your point, just he's fine, right?
28:09Last week, four catches, 49 yards, no touchdowns. That's why he was tight end 20, but if he catches a touchdown, then
28:16he's going to be top 12 guy on the week.
28:19And if Zay Flowers is not going to play, there's no Jacoby Lane.
28:23He's not going to, I mean, eventually like they're going to run out of bodies where they got to involve Mark Andrews, especially in the red zone.
28:31And I know Lamar Jackson is going to be good enough to get them into the red zone.
28:36And Mark Andrews at least showed last week he could catch 75%, if I'm doing my math correctly of his targets that went his way.
28:44So I think that he's a low end player and just Kyle Pitts just until I see this quarterback play work and
28:51function, I just don't want any part of these Falcons pass catchers.
28:54Fitzy, same thing here. You are higher on Andrews, but comparing and looking at the really low ranks of Pitts and Fannin
29:01and thinking about what floor is it tied in lately versus upside.
29:05How do you sparse these guys out? And then obviously Pitts, I think, has like the higher, like view on because he
29:11was ranked so high and the quarterback play might come in.
29:15So how are you balancing these three tight ends?
29:18Yeah, Andrews is tight end nine for me, like 72% snap share, 80% route share in week one and no Zay flowers for the Ravens.
29:25So I think it's a pretty good spot for him.
29:28Fannin, I'm kind of right at ECR, tight end 13.
29:31I just want to wait until Shadour Sanders comes back because Shadour loves throwing to Harold Fannin and like Deshaun Watson maybe just doesn't as much.
29:39So Watson's going to get benched soon. Things will get better for Fannin.
29:43Don't trade him away. And then like I am not going to swim against the tide with Kyle Pitts in a week
29:50that seems like it's a really good streaming week for tight ends.
29:54I mean, you've got Dalton Schultz going up against the Bengals who gave up the most catches, receiving yards and touchdowns to tight ends last year.
30:01You've got Hunter Henry without AJ Brown. It's just, yeah, Travis Kelsey looked pretty spry in week one.
30:07Just so many better options, I think, than Kyle Pitts.
30:10So why force the issue? Four and a half percent target share and a seven percent first read share for Kyle Pitts.
30:17I don't know if it can get much worse, but I guess my point is if you want to play the upside
30:23game, you would have to think they've got to turn the offense.
30:27Like what were your biggest deficiencies last week? You didn't get the ball to Kyle Pitts.
30:32You didn't get the ball to Drake London. What should we change this week?
30:36Let's maybe get them the ball. So I think we might be a little bit premature on the Kyle Pitts thing, so
30:43I'm not going to follow everybody here, but you know, what the hell do I know?
30:48I did not rank well. You guys ranked much better, but the the Kyle Pitts situation is very interesting when you look
30:55at the ranks versus some of these guys, Michael sandwiched in between.
30:58Where's Pitts and ECR? Did you say 16 at tight end?
31:02Yeah, I also I'm moving fan and down. I think the point about should there I wasn't considering enough.
31:07I'm not so sure that he is worth starting if if and when until should or Sanders is the quarterback on our center.
31:14Wait, wait till week three. No, I guess what tight end is messy again.
31:19Even though Bowers is out, it's a little bit more of a sell.
31:23It's actually it's like it. I don't know. It's a tough sell like the whole argument of get the high tight end
31:29so you don't have to deal with this mess.
31:32It really works well for McBride right now. Bowers is out, but some of those other tight ends that maybe would have
31:39qualified like I don't know Fannin and Pitts they're disasters and Loveland was a disaster last week.
31:44So I don't know what side you want to take like the high end tight end didn't really work out in week one.
31:51Maybe it's going to find itself in week two.
31:54Are you so we did get David and Joku in our snake auction league because Greg Dulcich was our only other tight end because of me.
32:02David and Joku over Greg Dulcich. Guys, is that is that the move?
32:06Especially if Lad's not playing. Yeah. Yeah. Against the Raiders.
32:09I would say I'm on board if Lad is out.
32:12Only if Lad is out. And I regret not I regret not tackling Erickson while he bit up Greg Dulcich.
32:18I knew I was going to regret it. I knew in the moment too.
32:22He had one catch like in the first quarter and I was like, oh, and he was he was the reason why
32:29I didn't sweep the prop show, man. Greg Dulcich.
32:32He was. He was 100 percent. But you had a really good day.
