Aaron Jones is dealing with a knee injury that puts his availability for the upcoming game in doubt, leading to potential increased roles for Damon Claiborne and DJ Dallas.

Insight page

Aaron Rodgers

NegativeUsage40:25

Aaron Rodgers is struggling with the Steelers' offense, frequently throwing the ball away at players' ankles to avoid hits rather than stretching the field, leading to a dysfunctional passing game.

Insight page

Alec Pierce

NegativeInjury58:54

The Colts' handling of Alec Pierce's ankle surgery and subsequent re-injury is cited as a major point of contention and mismanagement for the team's front office.

Insight page

Baker Mayfield

NegativeProjection60:58

Baker Mayfield needs to 'get right' for the Buccaneers to become more competitive, as the team's defense is currently struggling.

Insight page

Blake Corum

PositiveUsage41:51

Blake Corum is seeing significant usage alongside Kyren Williams, with the source highlighting his ability to rip off big runs and his efficiency of over seven yards per carry in the previous week's game against the Giants.

Insight page
PositiveUsage69:08

Blake Corum is coming off a strong performance where he ripped off big runs and averaged over seven yards per carry; he is expected to be heavily involved in the Rams' run-heavy approach against Denver.

Insight page

Caleb Williams

NegativeRole44:41

The source indicates that the Bears are still trying to manage Caleb Williams' involvement, noting that Case Keenum has been taking first-team reps.

Insight page
NegativeUsage45:25

The source notes uncertainty regarding Williams' availability, suggesting the Bears may be forced to rely heavily on their running game if he is unable to play.

Insight page

Case Keenum

NegativeDepth Chart44:43

Case Keenum has been working with the first-team offense for the Bears due to Tyson Bagent's concussion.

Insight page

Chris Rodriguez

NegativeUsage54:02

The source advises betting the under on Chris Rodriguez's receptions (0.5), noting he has significant trouble catching the ball.

Insight page

Colston Loveland

NegativeUsage44:52

The source describes the Bears' passing game as a "nothing burger" and specifically notes that Colston Loveland cannot get involved in the offense.

Insight page
NegativeProjection45:09

The source highlights Loveland as part of a Bears passing offense that is not expected to perform well in the upcoming matchup, citing poor offensive conditions.

Insight page

D'Andre Swift

PositiveMatchup45:54

The source suggests Swift could have success on the ground against the Eagles, noting the Eagles' poor defensive metrics against the run and Swift's previous 100-yard performance against them.

Insight page

Daniel Jones

NegativeProjection60:33

There is significant doubt regarding whether Daniel Jones is the same player following the injury he sustained last season.

Insight page

Davante Adams

NegativeMatchup68:22

The source notes that the Rams' offensive situation is tougher this week because they aren't facing the Giants' secondary with Davante Adams as the primary threat.

Insight page

Deshaun Watson

PositiveProjection50:43

The source notes that Deshaun Watson is currently 8th in the league in passer rating following his performance against the Buccaneers, contradicting previous predictions that he would be benched.

Insight page

DeVonta Smith

PositiveProjection44:21

The source expects DeVonta Smith to have a productive outing against the Bears, stating simply that he is "going to eat" in this matchup.

Insight page

DK Metcalf

PositiveMatchup47:05

DK Metcalf is expected to struggle against Bengals cornerback DJ Turner, with the source projecting another high-target game with minimal actual production.

Insight page

Drake Maye

NegativeProjection55:54

Drake Maye has struggled early in the season against complex defensive coverages, but the source maintains faith in his ability to eventually overcome these challenges.

Insight page

Gardner Minshew

PositiveDepth Chart3:56

Gardner Minshew is identified as a logical trade candidate for the Giants due to his familiarity with offensive coordinator Matt Nagy's system, which would allow for a quicker transition than other options.

Insight page

J.J. McCarthy

NegativeDepth Chart7:54

J.J. McCarthy is floated as a potential trade target for the Giants, though the source notes he would be a long-term project rather than a solution for the current season.

Insight page

J.K. Dobbins

NegativeUsage9:06

J.K. Dobbins is trending toward health, but the source warns that the Broncos backfield will likely feature a rotation of different players each week, making it difficult for any single back to dominate touches.

Insight page

Jalen Hurts

NegativeUsage44:24

The source suggests Jalen Hurts will have an opportunity to experiment with the Eagles' offensive playbook against the Bears' defense.

Insight page

Jameis Winston

NegativeUsage3:31

Jameis Winston struggled in his first start for the Giants, leading to speculation that the team may seek a trade for a quarterback like Gardner Minshew or Mac Jones. Winston is a risky fantasy asset, historically performing poorly as a market favorite (27% against the spread) and prone to high-turnover games.

Insight page
NegativeProjection62:16

The hosts question whether Jameis Winston will return to his 'old' form, implying a potential for high-variance play.

Insight page

Javonte Williams

NegativeUsage63:26

Javonte Williams has been ineffective, averaging only 3 yards per carry through two games against weak defenses, contributing to the Cowboys' one-dimensional offense.

Insight page

Joe Burrow

PositiveProjection40:02

Joe Burrow is viewed as a different animal with his top-tier wide receivers, and the Bengals' improved defense may allow him to win games without needing to throw 30+ times, reducing his exposure to punishment.

Insight page

Jonah Coleman

NegativeInjury9:03

Jonah Coleman did not practice due to injury, and the source suggests fantasy managers should temper expectations for his workload, as the Broncos backfield is currently a committee with multiple banged-up players.

Insight page

Jonathan Taylor

NegativeUsage62:01

While the Colts want to build their offense around Jonathan Taylor, the team lacks the creativity and ability to stretch the field to support him effectively.

Insight page

Josh Downs

PositiveUsage62:08

The Colts need to find ways to get the ball to Tyler Warren and Josh Downs to help spread out the defense.

Insight page

Josh Jacobs

NegativeInjury18:42

Josh Jacobs remains on the exempt list, and the legal situation regarding a sealed video has escalated, increasing the likelihood of its release and potential long-term suspension implications.

Insight page
NegativeInjury32:37

Josh Jacobs remains on the exempt list with no clear return timeline; the source notes that if a video of his alleged domestic violence incident is released, he faces a potential career-ending suspension.

Insight page

Justin Herbert

NegativeUsage59:35

The Chargers' offense is struggling to run the ball effectively and the offensive line is banged up, forcing the team to put more pressure on Justin Herbert's shoulders.

Insight page

Justin Jefferson

PositiveUsage18:16

Justin Jefferson remains the primary target for Kyler Murray, with the source suggesting the simplest game plan is to focus on getting him the ball.

Insight page

Keenan Allen

NegativeProjection45:09

The source expresses skepticism about the Bears' passing game pieces, including Allen, noting that the current offensive situation and potential quarterback issues make it unlikely to see fireworks this week.

Insight page

Kenneth Walker III

PositiveRole51:04

The source credits Kenneth Walker with providing a legitimate running game that has opened up the passing attack for Patrick Mahomes.

Insight page
NegativeMatchup69:12

The Broncos' run defense struggled in Week 1 against Kenneth Walker, which suggests the Rams' running backs could have success this week.

Insight page

Khalil Herbert

PositiveProjection48:25

The source suggests betting the over on Khalil Herbert's rushing yards, noting that the Bears' rushing attack should remain effective against an Eagles defense that may be overrated despite their reputation.

Insight page

Kyler Murray

NegativeProjection17:13

Kyler Murray is returning to the lineup, but the source expresses concern about his potential tentativeness following a concussion and the challenge of facing a blitz-heavy Tampa Bay defense.

Insight page

Kyren Williams

PositiveUsage41:51

The source notes that Kyren Williams is playing very well, coming off a performance where he averaged over seven yards per carry against the Giants, and is expected to be a major factor in the Rams' run-heavy game plan while Puka Nacua is sidelined.

Insight page
PositiveUsage69:08

Kyren Williams is expected to be a focal point of the Rams' offense, especially with the team likely leaning into the run game against a vulnerable Broncos run defense.

Insight page

Luther Burden

NegativeProjection44:53

Luther Burden is labeled a disappointment by the source, who notes that the Bears' offensive passing pieces are not currently producing.

Insight page

Mac Jones

NegativeDepth Chart3:56

Mac Jones is mentioned as a potential trade candidate for the Giants, with the source noting he might be a long-term developmental piece or safety net for the team, though he is viewed as less of an immediate 'win-now' solution than Minshew.

Insight page

Nico Collins

PositiveUsage59:44

The Texans are expected to receive a boost to their offense once Nico Collins returns from injury.

Insight page

Parker Washington

PositiveUsage51:54

Parker Washington is identified as the Jaguars' primary receiver, with a target share trailing only JSN and Amon-Ra St. Brown; he is considered a stud who will be a focal point against the Patriots.

Insight page

Patrick Mahomes

PositiveProjection51:00

The source predicts Patrick Mahomes will throw for 400+ yards against the Dolphins, citing the Chiefs' fabulous offense and the Dolphins' secondary being potentially the worst in the league over the last decade.

Insight page

Puka Nacua

NegativeInjury11:06

Puka Nakua is not making great progress with his injury, and the source advises expecting him to miss at least another game.

Insight page
NegativeInjury42:03

The source identifies Puka Nacua as arguably the Rams' best offensive player and notes his absence will force the team to lean more heavily into their ground game.

Insight page
NegativeInjury67:09

The Rams are leaning toward being without Puka Nacua for their upcoming game against the Broncos.

Insight page

Rome Odunze

NegativeProjection45:09

The source views the Bears' passing attack, including Odunze, as unreliable for fantasy production this week due to the matchup and uncertainty at the quarterback position.

Insight page
NegativeProjection45:22

The source expresses concern regarding the Bears' passing game, specifically noting that Rome Odunze is not currently producing as an offensive piece.

Insight page

Saquon Barkley

NegativeInjury44:29

The source notes that Saquon Barkley's availability for the upcoming game against the Bears is a factor to monitor for the Eagles' offense.

Insight page

Terrance Ferguson

PositiveRole11:34

Terrence Ferguson is expected to remain a significant part of the Rams' passing game while Puka Nakua is sidelined, as he is the primary pass-catching tight end in their heavy personnel sets.

Insight page
PositiveUsage67:15

With Puka Nacua likely out, Terrence Ferguson will see increased opportunity, though he must improve on the drops he had last week while facing tough coverage from Patrick Surtain.

Insight page

Tony Pollard

PositiveUsage47:56

The source highlights Pollard's recent success against the Eagles' defense, noting that he was able to rip off big runs, which supports the narrative that the Eagles are vulnerable to the run.

Insight page

Tyler Warren

PositiveUsage62:08

The Colts need to find ways to get the ball to Tyler Warren and Josh Downs to help spread out the defense.

Insight page

Tyson Bagent

NegativeInjury44:46

Tyson Bagent is currently dealing with a concussion, which has impacted the Bears' quarterback situation.

Insight page

Zay Flowers

NegativeInjury60:34

Zay Flowers is unlikely to play against the Cowboys after missing media-open practice sessions and working out on his own; his absence significantly hurts the Ravens' passing game.

0:05What's up friends the tailgate is on I'm Chris Welsh we've got Andrew Erickson and Pat Fitzmaurice here.
0:11We're gonna be breaking down week three we've got predictions we've got some calls we're gonna be breaking down some of the
0:17big games and some of the latest news. All here on the tailgate with a couple of my besties Erickson what's up buddy how we doing.
0:25Dude got my Dunkin Donuts today because it's fall it's autumn dude what is a better time to be alive than in
0:32New England in fall football season loving it man.
0:34Never been to New England so I don't know I've never been that far on the East Coast so I have no concept of it.
0:42We gotta change that then. We do we probably have to Fitzy Fitzy are you a world I feel like you've done
0:48some world traveling you've tasted some brews across many different.
0:51Establishments. Yeah yeah. I've been overseas you know I've driven from Amsterdam to southern Italy that was fun but and I've been
0:58to New England I've been to Boston love the area but I've never been for fall.
1:02I would love to go for fall I know you've got spectacular foliage there Erickson it's remains undefeated foliage.
1:08A plus foliage yes this is a foliage show guys ladies and gentlemen this is a high-end foliage show.
1:14Sorry I'm completely uncultured in the desert but I did get woken up.
1:18You just got a bunch of sand. You got this sand.
1:21Yeah I just got a bunch of sand but I was woken up to like a 120 decibel lightning thunder strike today
1:27because it's raining and that doesn't happen in Arizona.
1:30And it's kind of apropos of week two going into week three because there have been a ton of lightning strikes.
1:36Ton of injuries a ton of chaos and we are just trying to wade through it and that's what we're gonna do today.
1:43So let's not waste any more time no more foliage talk and let's talk some NFL.
1:48Let's jump into some of the trending news before we start breaking down stuff.
1:52And this has obviously been pacing itself out over a couple days.
1:56But a few little new nuggets you guys know Jackson Dart got hurt then you knew it was four to six weeks
2:02then you knew it was out for the season.
2:05The newest news is he is officially having surgery but the word is that he could be back for the playoffs.
2:11That's not the only piece of news Adam Schefter is out reporting that the Giants might be actually looking at some trade candidates.
2:18We've kind of been all over the board about this because they've got Jameis Winston which I don't know kind of seems silly.
2:25If I hear that they are looking at trade candidates to me it does scream a tiny bit that maybe that version
2:31of Jameis Winston we saw on week two might be the version they're very scared they had.
2:36And Adam Schefter named a couple players specifically Gardner Minshew and Mac Jones as candidates.
2:41I thought it was an interesting thing noting Schefter noted that Minshew had played under Giants offensive coordinator Matt Nagy in Kansas City which there's some familiarity there.
2:49But then he noted that like Mac Jones might cost less which I completely disagree.
2:54That would be the quarterback you would want. And then a slight little lean to Jimmy Garoppolo.
2:59So I think this is kind of an interesting thing that's transpiring here that they would look at bringing in a quarterback
3:05Erickson after they've you know made the kind of commitment of the backup of Jameis Winston and they've got him rolling out here.
3:12So what do you think of this report? What do you think this says for the Giants?
3:17All that's wrapped around that Jackson Dart could return for the playoffs.
3:21So they are trying to win games to get there.
3:24Call them BS on the Jackson Dart returning for the playoffs.
3:27I take John Harbaugh's stance when it comes to how well he's expected to perform with backup quarterbacks with a grain of salt.
3:34Considering last year they opted to start Cooper Rush instead of Tyler Huntley last season when Lamar Jackson first got injured.
3:40And that was a borderline disaster. Despite the fact that there was a large sample size of Tyler Huntley, Snoop Huntley, Pro
3:47Bowl quarterback, playing very well in the Lamar Jackson role.
3:50So I don't trust Harbaugh to make the right decision when it comes to the backup quarterback.
3:55And maybe that's why we saw Jameis Winston play so horribly because they had all their eggs invested into one basket.
4:01That basket being Jackson Dart. So I do think that this is particularly concerning that after one game, they're already like we
4:07got to pull the plug on Jameis Winston. And then it's interesting because you look up at the betting market.
4:13Who's favorite at home this week? The New York Giants with Jameis Winston as the starting quarterback.
4:18Which if you look at Jameis Winston as a market favorite, 27% against the spread in his career as a market favorite.
4:25You do never want to bet on Jameis as a favorite in any capacity.
4:29Well, just a matchup. It's interesting what you said though in that he'll make the wrong decisions.
4:34But then you've got Nagy here who could go and say, hey, listen.
4:38I think Mac Jones is probably like the highest talent here, Fitzy.
4:42But specifically, I think the one that makes the most sense is the Gardner Minshew where Nagy could sell everybody saying this guy knows the system.
4:49We can implement him immediately. What would the Cardinals care at this point?
4:53Like I think that's like an easy transitional move that probably isn't made this week.
4:58But how much are you buying, not just the playoff thing with Jackson Dart, Erickson's kind of selling that.
5:03But how much are you buying that they might try to make, I don't even want to call it a splash, but
5:10they would make a move after having Jameis Winston?
5:13Well, I'm absolutely selling the idea that the Giants are going to be anywhere near the playoff hunt without Jackson Dart.
5:19I mean, this was kind of an up and coming team as it was.
5:23Maybe a puncher's chance to get to the playoffs, even with Jackson Dart.
5:27Without him, I just don't see any ray of hope for them to get there.
5:31What would be best for them moving forward? We'll see if things look a little more buttoned up with Jameis Winston in week two.
5:38Like a lot of times, quarterbacks come in cold.
5:41They haven't had any practice reps all week. Things look really bad.
5:45Then they get practice reps for a week. They know they're going to be starting.
5:49The preparation is a little different and things look a lot better the following week.
5:54Now, Jameis Winston thinks they're never going to look completely buttoned up, but we could get that 300-yard, three-touchdown, three-interception kind of
6:00game that we're used to seeing from Jameis Winston in his starts.
6:04We know there are going to be some turnover-worthy throws, but he does challenge defenses downfield.
6:09You know, the Giants are going to need some splash plays now that their playmaking quarterback is out for presumably the entire season, playoffs included.
6:16I mean, there's cold quarterbacks, and then there's Jameis Winston in week two.
6:20That was ugly. Yeah, and I kind of agree.
6:23I actually think this is a weird space that they're in, though.
6:26Like, how much can they afford to see how long it's going to take for Winston?
6:31Like, obviously, you're not going to make a move.
6:34Nothing's going to change for this week. You're going to throw Winston out there.
6:38Is it going to be enough that this game is going to be the tell?
6:42And then if they're like, ooh, this is a disaster, they're going to immediately go make a trade.
6:47And I think that trade would probably make most sense for a guy like Minshew, and what does that do?
6:53I don't know. I just thought if Schefter's reporting on it, there's just something that's floating out there.
6:59And to me, it's probably some of the uneasiness of how Winston was.
7:03But like you said, he could cure all of that by just going, you know, Winston slaying when he just slangs the
7:09ball, and it's 420 yards, and it's probably three picks as well with the three touchdowns.
7:14But, you know, that's the game. And I don't know if Harbaugh can deal with that, but I thought that was an interesting report.
7:21I would just wonder about, like, there's, I don't see the urgency for a team that doesn't have realistic Super Bowl halts.
7:28You know, who cares if you start 0-3? Knowing the way Jackson Dart likes to play, and now he's had this major
7:34knee injury, like, you might need to start thinking about having a better-than-average backup quarterback on the roster, someone like Mac Jones
7:41for next season, to pick up the pieces in case something happens to Dart again in 2027.
7:46And I think they thought they were. I know we can look at it, but I don't think they internally are looking
7:52at it as they're not getting at it. Is Jim telling John to call the Vikings about a one Mr.
7:58J.J. McCarthy? Yeah, I mean, that was another one that was floated out there in the very beginning.
8:04That would be kind of like the two young long-term battle type of thing.
8:08But you don't trade for J.J. McCarthy to win games this year.
8:11You know what I mean? So, like, the move to—it's stupid saying this—the move to try to win games is getting a
8:18guy like Gardner Mincher, who knows the offense, or Mac Jones.
8:21The move after a couple weeks when it's all screwed up and it's messed up is, to your point, go and get a J.J.
8:28McCarthy, change of scenery, play him the last half of the year, see if you have something in him, and then there's
8:35maybe—I don't know if it's a competition or a safety net for yourself with Jackson Dart because all he does is get hurt.
8:42So, very interesting quarterback carousel that's going on. Another in the coaching delusion, Denver Broncos, saying that they're going to be okay.
8:48Peyton said that everything's going to be just fine.
8:51You know the dog—I actually have, like, the little thing of it, the dog with the fire around it.
8:57Like, this is fine. This is him. As three of the four running backs are all on the injury report right now.
9:03Jonah Coleman did not practice yesterday. I think J.K.
9:06Dobbins is trending a little bit in a better direction.
9:09RJ Harvey's out there. Erickson, you have had one really good point you have said for two weeks now, and you got a hold to it.
9:17What time is it in Denver? Tyler Bidet. It's always Tyler Bidet.
9:20It is Bidet time. I mean, even last week, I know Jonah Coleman kind of stole the show, but Bidet was out there.
9:27He was making some plays, especially as a pass catcher out of the backfield.
9:31So, whichever running back we get that's healthy between Dobbins, Harvey, or Coleman, Bidet is going to be also playing a role
9:38in this Broncos backfield, especially when you have a matchup against the Rams, where it's very potential for them to be trailing
9:44in that game, and you need a receiver out of the backfield.
9:48So, that's something you have to keep in mind.
9:50So, again, to kind of just temper expectations on whichever running back is healthy, that they're not going to see a 80%,
9:57you know, 20-touch type of workload, probably. Fitz, are you worried about this Denver Bronco team if they don't have any of
10:03these backs, and they're unable to establish the run, and Bo Nix has looked a little, you know, rough-ish around the edges,
10:10and they just haven't gotten all these pieces going?
10:13Like, how worried should we be about this team, especially when we're already looking at this and the entire backfield is banged up?
10:20It is a little bit of a problem. I mean, this wasn't expected to be one of the best backfields in the
10:26NFL, but it was one of the deepest, and now that depth is immediately being tested.
10:31Yeah, it's a worrisome thing, especially if you're a fantasy owner.
10:34You can kick that Jonah Coleman rank to the curb and maybe be on the lookout for J.K.
10:39Dobbin. What I'm really worried about, this literally might be a different back finishing as the top back for this team every single week of the season.
10:48Like, legitimately, I will be surprised. Hopefully not. But there's a legitimate chance we might have a different back being the top
10:54diet every, no back-to-back weeks where Jonah Coleman goes off or J.K.
10:58Dobbins. They're just going to continuously share across the board because of this big mixture.
11:02Some other news and notes. Sean McVay said that Pukunokua is, quote, not making great progress, Fitz.
11:07This is looking bad again. It did not seem like it was going to be at this level, especially if you saw
11:14some of those videos that were out there for Monday night's game.
11:17He was inactive. He continuously is actually being either transparent or just a really good liar with his poker face, but saying
11:24that Pukunokua is just not doing well with this.
11:26So your guesstimation, do you think we're going to see him out there?
11:30And if we don't, is this going to continue to benefit Terrence Ferguson?
11:34I have to take McVay at face value. You know, if he says things aren't looking good, they probably aren't looking good,
11:41and we should probably expect Pukun to miss another game at least.
11:44But yeah, I think we're going to see the Rams continue to lean into like heavy 12 and 13 personnel usage, as
11:51they did last year when they used 13 personnel at the highest rate in the league by far.
11:56And Terrence Ferguson, he is the pass catcher of those tight ends.
12:00And we saw the athleticism that prompted the Rams to make him a second round draft pick a couple of years ago.
12:06He looked really good on Monday night. He ran more than twice as many routes as any other Rams tight end.
12:13I think he will be a big part of the passing game again if Puka is absent, but it's a tougher matchup
12:19this week with Denver versus, you know, last week.
12:22The Giants secondary looked terrible, just terrible. And Denver's secondary is considerably better.
12:26Erickson, my tinfoil hat is, this is my conspiracy.
12:28I think that the NFL quietly behind the scenes cracked down on teams, ownership and coaches that would do what we used to see.
12:35They give you no information. They give you false information on injuries.
12:39And then they'd flip the switch. How many times do you see that in the past where they're like, yeah, not looking good.
12:46We don't know. We'll have to see. We'll have to see.
12:49Boom. Guy goes out there, plays 95% of the routes and stuff.
12:53So this year, it seems like it's the opposite direction.
12:56It is more face. Maybe I got to pay attention more to coach speak.
13:00It seems more injury face value. And my conspiracy theory is because of partnerships and how damning that can be in the
13:06NFL when the coaches would kind of hide behind.
13:09Obviously, they have injury reports, but they would hide all that information and try to use it as gamesmanship.
13:15I don't feel like that's out there this year.
13:17So I have been taking face value to what we're being told with injuries because I think there has been a secret Illuminati meeting behind the scenes.
13:25And that's my big conspiracy. Well, that's why injury reports exist in the first place.
13:30Right? Yeah. They were nonsense before. No. Oh, yeah.
13:33That's why they exist. And that thing that I always gave credit to Bill Belichick was he said, screw you.
13:39He just put everybody on the injury report. So it didn't matter.
13:42Well, the injury reports filled out. Tom Brady is on it again.
13:46Questionable with the shoulder injury. We don't see anymore.
13:48That's where my conspiracy changes. That's now dead. And there are no Belichicks out there that are fighting against that.
13:54And the NFL is like, nope, we're not doing that.
13:57Bill actually is probably the one that's helped us get here because he manipulated it so bad.
14:02Yeah. I just remember laughing every single time you looked at a Patriots injury report because he would put 30 players on
14:09the Wednesday injury report with just shoulder, ankle, finger, hand injuries.
14:12Tom Brady was on the injury report for like four straight years.
14:16Every single week with like questionable shoulder injury. Never missed a game.
14:19It's my favorite thing. All right. Let me know.
14:22I'm curious if anybody else thinks that that's conspiracy is out there, too, because I am taking a lot more face value.
14:29And then like the reality of what these guys are saying, I think, is holding.
14:33So that doesn't really hold well to Puka Nakua.
14:36But Terrence Ferguson really did kind of slide well into that role.
14:39So we will probably see a whole lot more of him.
14:42Last two pieces, Aaron Jones. We talked about this on the Tailgate Live, which you guys should come and check Erickson and I out.
14:50We do that 5 p.m. Eastern on Wednesdays, hanging out with people.
14:53And we had just gotten the news that Aaron Jones has a knee injury.
14:57And that knee injury, even though we talked about it there, we're now here with Fitzy.
15:02That knee injury doesn't look great to the point that he might not be playing in the game.
15:07And they were talking up Damon Claiborne and DJ Dallas.
15:10So Fitzy, your reaction, because we were you were kind of reacting with us because you had said you even like cut
15:17Damon Claiborne in a league yesterday prior to this news coming out.
15:21But it's slowly kind of pieced out. Erickson and I are both in the leaning of like, it doesn't look like he's
15:27good to go for this because they had this massive usage on him.
15:31Now this knee is banged up and it might be Damon Claiborne time.
15:35Yeah, it might be Claiborne time. He's a small, very fast, shifty, elusive back from Wake Forest.
15:40It would be interesting to see him get a chance.
15:43And he is small, but he's not just a mere scat back.
15:46Like he does pretty well as far as contact balance and like bouncing off tackles and maybe a little utility in the passing game, too.
15:54So I guess it would be a mix of him and what?
15:57DJ Dallas, the other guy. Yeah, that's what they say.
16:00Left in that backfield. And then Jerome Ford, too.
16:03Because he's on the backfield. Yeah, if he's activated.
16:06Well, that would be an interesting one. But Erickson, you had even said like we've agreed like DJ Dallas probably is like
16:12a guy that gets the start and is probably like a third down pass blocking type of guy.
16:18But if there's someone to make a bet on to make the big play, it would be Damon Claiborne.
16:23Yeah, they're not going to be I feel pretty confident that they're not going to scheme up any type of touches for DJ Dallas.
16:30I feel pretty confident. And even last week, like who had more targets?
16:34Damon Claiborne or Aaron Jones? Damon Claiborne did. He ran he ran one route, got one target on it.
16:40So clearly they know that he has juice, that he can hit the edge and score an 80 yard touchdown.
16:46So against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers defense, that is really tough to run on anyway.
16:50I think that Kevin O'Connell might just lean into the fact that, look, our starting running back we overloaded with touches last week is really banged up.
16:58We have a lot of inexperience now at the running back position.
17:02We have DJ Dallas. We feel good about as a veteran.
17:05We have this explosive rookie can make some big plays if we get him in space and we're getting our starting quarterback back in the lineup.
17:13So you attack this Tampa Bay Buccaneers defense through the air.
17:16Kyler's back. Let's go. Let it rip. The Buccaneers are unraveling.
17:20Oh, and 11 against the spread. Tied the continuing of a Super Bowl era record of how bad they've been against the spread.
17:26Todd Bowles is hot seat is scorching right now.
17:29So I just think they continue to lean into the passing game in this matchup.
17:34Maybe they do, but it's going to be interesting to see if Kyler can handle that in his first game back because,
17:40you know, Todd Bowles is going to throw blitzes at him constantly in this game.
17:45And Kyler only played 11 snaps, I think, in that first game against the Packers.
17:49He didn't look good in those 11 snaps. Like they need to have a plan for handling the Tampa Bay Blitz this
17:56week, and we'll see how Kyler fares. And that also could be why a guy like DJ Dallas could be out there
18:02quite a bit more just playing a pass blocking role.
18:05But also it could be and I would also the another side note as my brain goes into three different spots is
18:12like what type of tentativeness are we going to see from Kyler because of him getting smashed, you know, the previous week to get that concussion.
18:19Is he comfortable with running or is it going to just be a sling fest?
18:24So that'll be something to watch. Justin Jefferson 2020.
18:26I mean, look, look, if I was Kyle, it's like, yeah, how do I make this as simple as possible?
18:32Drop back. Where's Justin Jefferson throwing ball? Yeah. Don't overthink it.
18:36Yeah. Addison, not too bad either. The other piece, very complicated issue, the continuous saga of the Josh Jacobs situation.
18:42Only reason we're going to mention this is because it just came down.
18:45It is, you know, this continued conversation around the videotape in Josh Jacobs situation being sealed.
18:50The woman involved with it had requested it to be sealed.
18:54There was a judge that like had a temporary denial of that.
18:57And then today, Judge Mark Hammer denied the request by the victim in the Josh Jacobs case.
19:02I'm reading an exact quote here to have this permanently sealed and instead turn the matter over to the Hobart Lawrence Police
19:09Department, which will now be the custodian of the records.
19:12So what this means is, is any new request for the records will be handled by the police department, which will then
19:18determine if it is considered fair to release those records.
19:21And then on top of that, the victim or Jacobs will be granted time to appear if the police department decides to release the records.
19:29I'm guessing peer in court. That wasn't made clear.
19:31So what that means is there is a much higher likelihood now that that video where it didn't seem a couple weeks ago could become released.
19:39It's not a guarantee. We don't know. And I think everybody is kind of held to this, Erickson, that, you know, that
19:46could be it's obviously a smoking gun, of course.
19:48But that could create much more fervor around because everyone's like four to six games, domestic violence issues.
19:54But, you know, this could make this a lot of a bigger situation.
19:57So the saga of Josh Jacobs continues to be a huge question mark and he stays on the exempt list for we just don't know how long.
20:06Yeah, I think that whatever's on that video is not good.
20:09Safe to say, I think that's probably what is contained on it.
20:12But so it's always going to be not good, by the way.
20:16Just want to point that out. Like anything domestic violence is not good.
20:20So it's not good. I think that this is obviously negative for the Jacobs camp, because if that video gets released and
20:26the NFL sees it, he's probably looking at a lengthier suspension or potentially a career ending suspension where he's like, now you're done.
20:33Sorry. Like no one's going to bring you back.
20:36So that's that's all I have really to add.
20:39Yeah. Fitzy, nothing you want less to talk about and deal with as a Packer fan than stuff like this.
20:44And it's a brutal situation that continuously just it has these stock market ups and downs of chaos involved in it.
20:51Yeah. And I can't understand these complex legal issues because I'm just a simple caveman.
20:55But I would say that the fact the league has not handed down any sort of suspension yet two weeks into the
21:02season suggests that they're holding open the possibility that this video might become available.
21:06And they would, you know, hand down a much longer suspension than the six gamer mandatory for any sort of domestic situation like that.
21:13And to further add that not only what you just said, but that they are waiting to make anything to see if
21:20it would be available to them like that. They're holding out to see if they're going to get it.
21:25And now it seems a little bit more likely.
21:28So updates as more of this. Also, too, I mean, to lighten the mood here.
21:32Is this his real name? Judge Mark Hammer. It's like that's like so like if you're one of the greatest if your
21:39name is Mark Hammer, you're either a handyman or a judge.
21:42It's like pretty perfect. The only thing would have been better if he was like Daniel Gavel and he'd just been like Judge Daniel Gavel.
21:50Like Mark Hammer is a phenomenal. It's a TV judge name.
21:53Yeah, sure. Totally. Yeah. A guy's going to have a show in like a year, though none of those judge shows ever really go well.
22:00They're not very good. All right. We are going to get into the games that matter.
22:05We're going to be doing some game breakdowns here in a second.
22:09But I need to tell you about this new prediction market.
22:12It's called Polymarket. I think you've heard of them.
22:15It's a stock exchange for sports buying in and selling out on your terms.
22:19When your team goes down to 20%, you can buy in and you could sell it off at 40% when they come back to double your money.
22:27They're so confident you'll never go back to the other guys.
22:30They're giving you a free $50 on your first trade when you deposit just $10.
22:35So download the Polymarket app today and use code FPPOD when you sign up.
22:39That's FPPOD to get $50 free after you trade just $10.
22:42That's Polymarket. Okay. Some big games that matter. Five games I've got for you that I want to get your takes on
22:49here as we go into week three. And this one might actually, like if there is, you know, the dragon meme where it's like dragon, dragon.
22:56There's like all of the dragon. This might be that one when you look at the matchups.
23:01But I put Cincinnati and Pittsburgh on this one because Cincinnati's defense has been for real.
23:06This is a big divisional matchup. The Pittsburgh Steelers defense has been great, but unlike Cincinnati, they don't have a real semblance of an offense right now.
23:14And that seems to be a little bit more tied around Aaron Rodgers.
23:18So Fitzy, we could start with you. Just want to get your keys to the game here.
23:23And who do you think can step out of this, is going to step out of this for that divisional run, which,
23:30you know, is going to be competing up against the Baltimore Ravens here.
23:33But what do you think about the two defensive stouts here and what Pittsburgh's offense kind of lacks?
23:39Yeah, this could be a rock fight because the Dexter Lawrence effect has transformed this defense.
23:44Like it's there's some other guys playing really well for Cincinnati.
23:47But like a joke they were to last year, by the way.
23:50Remember, it was just like it was like, oh, great, you know, just play against Cincinnati.
23:55Yeah, great point. Complete alteration with one player. And you can make the case that the defense has outplayed the Cincinnati offense thus far.
24:02But once the Bengals offense gets clicking, they're going to be really hard to stop.
24:07And maybe now they don't have to expose Joe Burrow to the sort of punishment he's been taking.
24:12Like maybe they can have more games where Burrow only has to throw 25, 26, 27 passes to win games.
24:18You would think that they're going to have an easy time of it against the Pittsburgh offense because the Pittsburgh passing game looks completely broken.
24:25And they are one of the ugliest watches right now in football.
24:29Like when Pittsburgh has the ball, it's just Aaron Rodgers is like he doesn't want to take hits.
24:34Things don't look good. Yeah, I mean, I just it's too bad because this Pittsburgh defense is legit and there is a
24:41ton of talent on that side of the ball.
24:44And the offense is just dysfunctional right now. Yeah, I bet fantasy points has this stat.
24:48But what do you think Aaron Rodgers has done more deep passes of 30 yards or more or throw at players ankles because he's throwing the ball away?
24:57You know, when like a rusher is there and he just throws it down on the ground.
25:02Like, what do you think he's done more this season?
25:05It's a good question. Oh, sorry. Yeah. You know, you can speak on it, too.
25:09But I don't know. I feel like it's throw at the ankles.
25:13I mean, he is chucking a D. I mean, DK Mecca is racking up the air yards.
25:18But it's like throws that have no chance of getting.
25:21Yeah, yeah, yeah. The term prairie yards instead of air yards.
25:24That's that's what we're getting like because they're just like Aaron Rodgers throwing it.
25:28It's not like the effective throws to stretch the defense or whatever.
25:32It's just like I'm going to heave this ball as far as I can rather than stand here and take a hit.
25:38Do we have two stats for fantasy points, by the way?
25:42Prairie yards and ankle yards. Can we have? Let's do that.
25:45The throws are so off the mark that you can't tell if it's a throwaway or just a deep pass.
25:51Can't tell. When one person serves, the whole family supports the mission.

26:46Your back-to-school checklist is complete. Or so you thought.
26:48You've got the notebooks, the sneakers, and 42 glue sticks, just in case.
26:52But what's your plan for the first strep throat?
26:55The first ear infection? The stomach bug that hits at 2 a.m.
26:58the night before picture day? That's the part of the checklist nobody writes down.
27:03Jace Medical does. The Jace Kids Case gives your family a physician-prescribed supply of the medications kids actually need, ready before the school year throws its first curveball.
27:11Add a Jace case for the grown-ups and a Jace Aid first aid kit, and the whole household is covered, from playground scrapes to weekend fevers.
27:19You wouldn't send your kid to school without a backpack.
27:22Don't send your family into flu season without a plan.
27:25Finish the checklist at Jace.com. That's J-A-S-E dot com.
27:27Jace Medical. Physician-led. Mission-driven. It's a brutal run there.
27:30Erickson, your take on this situation. I got a bet against Pittsburgh, as far as wide receivers go, in the prop show
27:36we're going to be doing over on Betting Pros this week.
27:40But offense looks abysmal. What's your lean? What do you think the keys are in this game?
27:45Well, to Fitz's point about the Dexter-Lawrence impact, so he's been double teamed on 53% of his pass rushes this season.
27:51It's the ninth highest among defensive tackles. They've generated pressure on 45% of the drop packs when Dexter Lawrence is on the
27:58field, compared to 35% with him off the field.
28:00Against the run, 2.9 yards per carry when he's on the field, compared to 5.6 when he's not on the field.
28:06So his impact is coming up in the numbers.
28:09It's so obvious based on how this defense has played overall.
28:12And I think just his impact being on the field, it makes the other players better because it puts them in better
28:19situations for them to thrive with their pass rushers.
28:22Some of their young guys are starting to step up.
28:25We knew their secondary had some good pieces. DJ Turner is still balling out.
28:29I mean, he's going to lock down DK Metcalf, so it's going to be another 10 target game for Metcalf with no production.
28:36So man, I get this line at three and a half with the Bengals is giving respect to AFC North divisional matchup.
28:42The Bengals are on the road playing in Pittsburgh.
28:45But this feels like a line that would be for like a Mike Tomlin team where it's like, oh, Mike Tomlin, home
28:51underdog, like lock of the week, maybe. This is the Mike McCarthy, Aaron Rodgers Steelers.
28:56So in the past, this would be a line where, oh man, I can't touch this.
29:01Like, this is so scary. Like the voodoo magic for Mike Tomlin is going to come out.
29:06Steelers are going to win this game somehow, some way.
29:09But it's not Mike Tomlin calling the shots anymore.
29:11It's Mike McCarthy and Aaron Rodgers press conference after the loss to the Patriots sounded like there's already a big disconnect here between this head coach and quarterback.
29:20So I think that this might be a slap of reality for the Steelers.
29:24And although their defense has looked good the last couple of weeks, I don't know.
29:28I think Joe Burrow is kind of a different animal here with these top tier wide receivers.
29:33Jamel Dean is on the injury report. Joey Porter Jr.
29:36might come back this week, but how is he going to play in his first came back?
29:41We've also seen these Bengals receivers absolutely feast on this defense before in the past with Joe Flacco as the quarterback.
29:48So even though they're on the road, I kind of like laying the points with Cincy.
29:52I think Cincy is going to be like a really good money line parlay piece.
29:57If people are taking a couple teams, they'll probably be popular.
30:00And by the way, textbook passive aggressiveness. Like you put that in the textbook.
30:04You want to give someone an example of what passive aggressiveness is?
30:08Just show that where Aaron Rodgers is like, yeah, it's on me to tell the coaches they're not doing a good job.
30:14Like get out of here, dude. Like he's the worst.
30:17I used to kind of like be a pseudo, like sometimes the villains and stuff, like I can kind of be okay with and whatever.
30:25He just has pushed it so far where it's just like, you're the worst, dude.
30:29Like you're just the worst. Like, and that, those are the things that I can't do.
30:34So, all right. Let's go to the next game in here.
30:37This is, uh, this is Erickson's game, New England and Jacksonville.
30:41This is going to be a very, very fun game.
30:44One, I mean, two quarterbacks that maybe have like slightly underperformed in what people wanted at a Lawrence, at least last week.
30:50First game was really great. Drake Maye has really struggled.
30:53That's something I'm going to talk about a little bit later, but Erickson, your take on this one, Drake may has not gotten going.
31:00They're trying to get guys like Dobbs. He had the big play last week.
31:04They're just trying to find all their pieces. They have not found their footing to a Jaguars team that, uh, you know,
31:11last week was iffy Parker Washington is clearly the play.
31:14Tootin looks good. Uh, I kind of think they have found themselves, but how do you think this game is going to play out?
31:21And what is a big key part of this matchup?
31:24It's got to be Parker Washington against Christian Gonzalez, the number one defensive player for the Patriots against the number one receiver for the Jacksonville Jaguars.
31:32Cause it's so clearly Parker Washington. The fact that his target share only trails JSN and Amon Ross St.
31:37Brown this season. He's been absolutely fantastic. The numbers show it.
31:41The film shows it. The dude is an absolute stud.
31:44And the longer the Jaguars wait to pay him, the more they're going to have to end up paying Parker Washington.
31:50So I think that matchup is going to be fascinating.
31:53I'm, do you think, do you think Gonzalez is going to blanket him the entire game in terms of like, he's not
31:59going to do any production or he's going to shadow.
32:02Yeah. Well kind of, yeah. Shadow him. Like, do you think he's going to be shadowing?
32:07I think there's going to be a lot of that.
32:10I think that Liam Cohen is also sharp enough of a offensive play car to get Parker Washington into favorable situations where
32:17Gonzalez just won't end up matching him, whether it's a pick play or something along those lines.
32:22And also, I mean, Mark Washington is going to win his fair share of reps against, I mean, like the, both guys are going to make plays, right?
32:30Like both guys are superstars. In my opinion, one of them just hasn't gotten paid yet.
32:35So I think it's going to be a battle to watch.
32:38That's where my eyes are going to be glued to the screen that, and the under on Chris Rodriguez catches because that guy can't catch a cold.
32:46So 0.5 receptions slamming the under on Chris Rodriguez.
32:49That'll be a sweat. That'll be fun to go through the entire game, but the receiver quarterback matchup matters a lot to me.
32:56And then how does the Patriots offensive line hold up against some pretty fierce pass rushers on the Jaguars side?
33:02They lost one of their starting guards. I don't like the spot for the Patriots really at all.
33:07I think that this is a really good spot for the Jaguars to bounce back.
33:11They had a chance to win in Denver last week.
33:14They were winning in the second half, but they just couldn't close it out in the fourth quarter.
33:20So I think that they get back onto business here and yeah, I'm not really hopeful about my Patriots this week.
33:26Yeah. Fitzy, that would make the Patriots own two on the road.
33:29This is a tough matchup against the Jags kind of in general.
33:33They haven't had their footing. What's your take on this Jaguars Patriots game?
33:37This is one I would probably not put a penny on betting.
33:40Like I feel like this one could kind of go either way and I just want to get the assessment of where we're at.
33:48I want to see if Drake may can kind of turn things around because it's been pretty ugly so far.
33:54Give them a mulligan for week one because they're going up against the Seahawks who like did not allow a completion of
34:0010 or more yards against the Cardinals last week.
34:03It's the best pass defense in the league, but you know, not a banner game against the Steelers last week either.
34:09It seems like defenses are dropping more guys in coverage against May and rather than trying to like go after him with
34:16the blitz, just like, okay, figure it, figure this out.
34:19Throwing new puzzles at Drake may to try to solve and kind of hasn't been able to solve them yet, but I
34:25have a lot of faith in Drake may to pick it up and eventually overcome some of the challenges defensive coordinators are throwing at him.
34:33Let's go to Rio. It's Rio. It's Rio. Rio de Janeiro game, Baltimore at Dallas.
34:37This is one of those, like, I'm not a schedule hawk.
34:40I don't go and just like, you know, when the schedule get releases, I'm not just like, you know, the papers here,
34:47you know, or Steve Martin and the jerk, which not everyone's, no one's going to get that reference.
34:52Maybe Fitz, you'll get that reference, but the phone book is here.
34:56Like, I don't do that with the schedule. So I'm not like locked into, oh, there's a Rio game in week three.
35:02Overall, it's just like a really weird spot. Fitzy, what's your take on this one?
35:07There's travel involved, you know, both of these offenses, specifically Baltimore, you know, they're dealing with a situation with Zay Flowers and his kind of questionable nature.
35:15They really were able to meet that call last week with Rashad Bateman.
35:19But will they be able to do that this game?
35:22And do you think the travel playing in Rio is going to have any effects on this game?
35:27Travel? I'm not sure. What I'm sort of watching for is like what the field looks like, because there have been reports
35:34that the field is not in good shape and the NFL has been sort of, oh, nothing to see here.
35:39And apparently some of the boots on the ground reporting suggests that maybe the field is not in the best of shape.
35:46So you just cross your fingers that there are no major injuries.
35:50I know when the Packers and Eagles played in Brazil a couple of seasons ago in week one, that that field was a skating rink.
35:57Kind of worked to the advantage of the offense in that game.
36:01There were some big passing plays because defenders could not get their footing when players with the ball changed direction.
36:07So, yeah, I just I hope everyone emerges with their ligaments intact in this game.
36:11But it is a really fun matchup. I just I want to see how the Ravens bounce back after a very disappointing
36:18home loss to the Saints last week. This seems like one of those games, too, just from a player perspective.
36:23Send me to Rio, but give me a couple days after to hang out because hopefully no one is out enjoying what
36:30is probably a phenomenal nightlife in Rio. Another note to throw out here.
36:34I'm seeing this just like 20 minutes ago. Zay Flowers today did work out on his own in practice, but was not
36:40present during the portion of the session that was open to the media.
36:44So that's a report that's out there. So he did his own stuff, but he wasn't on the big one.
36:50Erickson level of concerns with Zay Flowers. And if they're without Zay Flowers, do you think this does truly put them a
36:57step behind in this real game versus the Cowboys?
36:59I think potentially. I don't think Zay Flowers is going to play again.
37:03I mean, he said that he was limited last week on Friday.
37:07I know the are they playing tool has him not playing.
37:10And of course, because he's on our auction team with me and Fitz, he's obviously not going to play because there's nobody
37:17left on that team that's active anymore. You know who our number one bidded up player was?
37:22Puka Nakua. Next, Zay Flowers. These guys aren't going to be playing anytime soon.
37:26So you have Jaden Daniels, too. Alex, Alex Pierce.
37:29Oh, my God. Are you joking? Just like absolutely gutted with it.
37:32Like we barely can set a roster last week.
37:35I'm like, oh, can we should we do Njoku, Terrence Ferguson?
37:38It was like, oh, actually, we don't have a choice.
37:41We have to play both guys. And of course, Njoku gets hurt.
37:45Man. Ferguson was nice, but it's absolutely brutal. But no, I think that that matters a lot if he's not going to play.
37:52We've seen this Ravens offense, the passing game. I know Bateman stepped up a little bit last week, but he's still not to the level of Zay Flowers.
38:00So that's concerning from the Ravens perspective. The Ravens are getting back some of those guys I talked about when we were
38:06breaking down Javante Williams in his rank. Teddy Buchanan, full practice on Wednesday.
38:10Badabuke, the big defensive tackle that is a significant interior upgrade for run defense.
38:14Full practice. On Wednesday. So those guys are probably going to suit up and play in this game, which is going to
38:21bolster that run defense for the Baltimore Ravens against a lackluster rush game for the Dallas Cowboys.
38:26Like Javante has not been ripping off any big runs.
38:29He is at three yards per carry through two games.
38:32And that was against the Giants and Commanders. Like not good defenses.
38:36So Dallas seems like it's kind of one dimensional when it comes to they're just going to pass the ball a ton.
38:42And how does that kind of pan out when you have poor field conditions?
38:46And then on the Dallas side, they're kind of the opposite of what Cincinnati is.
38:51Cincinnati is getting all the OK, their defense, the middle of the additions and you're seeing it.
38:56Dallas is like we made all these additions and like Luther Burton did only squat, right?
39:01They're not getting any of the returns on the defensive additions that they made.
39:05And they're all banged up again in their secondary.
39:07Kobe Durant hurt. Willie Hooker hurt. PJ Locke hurt.
39:10All DNPs on Wednesday on the injury report. So this one for me is a game I would not touch from a
39:17betting perspective because I could just see so many different ways where it could go.
39:21And then you're throwing in the fact that it's played on a neutral field that we don't feel confident about whatsoever.
39:27Part of me feels like, why don't they just play this game in Dallas where we know we're going to get a
39:34much better product versus, oh, let's roll the dice on this field that may or may not be terrible and put all these superstar players.
39:41That just really scares me. So for me, it's like, please just no more injuries.
39:46Have everybody come out. Ravens win by three. Cowboys cover whatever.
39:49Don't care. That's kind of what I'm hoping for with this game.
39:53It's not about player health, Erickson. It's about growing the game to Rio and Australia.
39:57Don't you know they're going to play that Antarctica game?
40:00It's going to be great. We're going to be.
40:03That's why they're sending the Steelers, dude. NFL prestige worldwide.
40:06We're everywhere playing every game, regardless of the conditions.
40:08They're going to play beach ball. It doesn't matter.
40:11I don't disagree with you. All right. Two more games here.
40:14The Denver Broncos and the Rams. The Rams are going to be playing up against the Broncos who are going to be
40:21without, you know, essentially all of their running backs.
40:24This is in Denver, though. One on one Rams look better.
40:27But Rams, it's leaning like they're going to be.
40:29There's lots of injuries in this one. Rams look like they're going to be leaning without Puka.
40:35If not, that's a case for Terrence Ferguson. Denver Broncos, not that you're probably going to run that well in general anyways,
40:41are going to be off those backs. They're going to have to pass.
40:45So this is like a big powerhouse matchup that there's just a whole lot of injuries attached to it.
40:51Probably, I think, one of the games I'm looking most forward to this week, Erickson.
40:55What's your take on this? You know, what injuries are going to affect which team the most that takes them out of this game?
41:02Well, I think that this puts the Rams offense in a bit of a tougher spot because it's not going to be
41:09Devontae Adams against the Giants cornerbacks as the number one wide receiver.
41:12It's going to be him against Patrick Sertan. And the fact that you don't have Puka, now you are really putting Terrence
41:19Ferguson in a spot where, dude, you can't have the drops like you did last week.
41:24And obviously he did have a breakout. There were some plays that he left on the table, but he's going to be
41:30asked to do even more in this game. So the opportunity is going to be there for him.
41:35He's a fun second year player that we're excited about.
41:38But if he's seeing more coverage from some of these cornerbacks from the Denver Broncos, who else is there to step up?
41:45Is it going to be more of the tight ends?
41:48I think the answer might actually be, dude, Kyron and Coram, baby.
41:52They're just going to run ship all over this Broncos run defense that has shown at least in week one, they could not stop Kenneth Walker.
41:59And even last week, Bayshel Tootin had some decent runs against them.
42:03So I think that without Puka, you could see the Rams really lean more into their ground game, which up to this point, man, like lights out, dude.
42:11Kyron scoring touchdowns, Coram ripping off the big runs.
42:14Both guys last week, I think we're over seven yards per carry.
42:17Just the Giants had no answers to stop this run game.
42:21And both guys are playing so well. So I would expect the Rams run game to play a big factor offensively just based on the lack of Puka.
42:29So what do you think about it? It's an interesting dynamic where I feel like I would be like, oh, the Denver
42:36Broncos would be like a team that would want to kind of slow the pace down and the Rams would want to speed it up.
42:43But, you know, if the Rams are without some of that passing side and they're going to be running the crap out
42:50of the ball with a team like the Broncos who don't have much of a running game that are probably need to pass it.
42:57Like, how do you think this is going to play out?
43:00Do you think there's a potential for high scoring or do you think this is going to be just kind of a punch fest?
43:07That's a good question because it will be like a battle of contrasting.
43:11Styles. You would think the Rams will be run heavy and the Broncos a little pass heavy.
43:16I'm not sure. I'm just it's going to be I feel like we haven't gotten a good gauge of what the Rams are just yet.
43:23And certainly it's unfair to definitively judge them without their best defensive player in Myles Garrett and arguably their best offensive player in Puka Nakua.
43:31They were airdropped into Australia for that first game.
43:34And Sean McVay admitted this week that maybe that was a pretty dumb idea.
43:38So they were totally out of sorts for that game against the 49ers.
43:42Then week two against the Giants, things completely unravel with the Jackson Dart injury and no one in the Giants can cover Devontae Adams.
43:49And so that's just kind of a laugher. But like this is going to be a real test for them because Denver is a tough place to win.
43:57And this is going to be a really good defense.
44:00And I'm anxious to see how the Rams go about it this week.
44:04Final one is the Monday night game Philly in Chicago.
44:07So much. And this, by the way, could be a laugher.
44:10There's a high potential that this one is not a big matchup you want to pay attention to.
44:16But the reason we're locked into it, it's not really about the Eagles because Eagles are the Eagles.
44:21You know, Devontae Smith's out there. He's going to eat.
44:24Jalen Hurts, probably an opportunity for them to try out stuff if they want against this defense.
44:29If Saquon plays, it's great. But this is like a Bears situation.
44:32And the reason it's so much more of our eyes are attached to it, I guess they're still trying to like dangle Caleb out there a little bit.
44:41But Case Keenum has been working with the ones.
44:43Bajent has got the concussion. But you have this quarterback situation that is attached to nothing burgers.
44:49On the offense. Just nothing burgers. And Loveland can't get involved.
44:52Luther Burden's a disappointment. I guess there was some hubbub about, you know, Abe Aajent looking at Burden.
44:57But, you know, the offensive pieces, it looks rough.
45:00And I think that's where the big focus is.
45:03So, Bitsy, you can start us off here. Can the Bears revive all of their offensive pieces that we're so excited about?
45:09The passing offensive pieces. Because, by the way, I know they scored 59 points.
45:1359 points. Yeah, yeah. Let me be more clear about it before I get ripped on that.
45:18Duh. But I'm saying the offensive passing pieces. Burden, Adunze, Loveland.
45:22They're just not there. This is a horrible matchup for it to happen.
45:25And you might have Case Keenum, the third quarterback that's attached to it.
45:29So, can the Bears at all kind of revive this whole thing without Caleb Williams?
45:34I don't think we're going to see fireworks from the Bears passing game this week.
45:38I think they're going to try to run the ball.
45:41But here's the interesting thing. This is a revenge game for the Eagles.
45:45Because when these two teams played last year, it was the Black Friday game, if you'll recall.
45:50Day after Thanksgiving. The Bears ran all over the Eagles in Philadelphia.
45:54I think DeAndre Swift and Kyle Menonga both went over 100 yards that game.
45:58There were just explosive running plays against the Eagles left and right in that game.
46:02The Eagles defense hasn't forgotten what was done to them by the Chicago Bears last year.
46:07And now the Bears are in a spot where they are sort of forced to be run heavy.
46:12And look, Ben Johnson probably is the best running game designer of any coach in the NFL.
46:17But can you design an effective running game when you might not have a credible threat at quarterback?
46:23That's the question. So, the Eagles haven't looked great so far.
46:26They're 2-0. But man, like, they did not exactly get any style points with those wins over the Commanders and Titans.
46:32Like, they were just kind of do what it took and not much else.
46:36So, this is going to be a really interesting matchup.
46:39DeAndre Smith got some style points. But they're without Goddard as well.
46:43Erickson, do you think we can see a repeat of the Black Friday game and the Bears are going to be able to run?
46:50Or is this going to be an Eagles route?
46:53It was 125 yards for both Swift and Kyle Menonga.
46:56So, to Fitz's point, man, like, they had no answers.
46:59And that was on the road, right? This game is being played in Chicago.
47:03So, you have a little bit of the home field advantage there.
47:07I think Soldier Field is one of those places where there is a home field advantage.
47:11You look at how good the Bears have been in the Caleb Williams era against the spread.
47:16Best in the NFL since 2024. Bears covering the spread at home.
47:20Caleb Williams era. Even rookie year Caleb Williams, when he was bad, they were still good at covering the spread at home.
47:26So, just going to point a picture or painting the picture of how this team is a tough out regardless when they
47:33are playing in front of their Chicago fans. And the Eagles defense, usually viewed as their strength, specifically in their secondary, they
47:40have not been that great against the run the last two weeks.
47:43We talked about it when we were breaking down Bill heading into week two, the running back for the commanders.
47:49We're like, hey, Bill looks pretty good against the Eagles defense.
47:52Last week, you know who looked pretty good against the Eagles defense?
47:56Tony Pollard. Second half was like, okay. Like, you're seeing these guys rip off some big runs.
48:01And I looked at the two-week sample size. Eagles, ninth most rushing yards allowed this season.
48:06Fifth highest run rate faced. Despite the fact that they're not playing in games where they, or they have leads in a
48:12lot of these games, teams are still electing to run the football against them.
48:16And the eighth highest EPA per rush allowed. So, I agree with Fitz and Welsh about how they're going to try to run the rock here.
48:24And I think they might have success doing it.
48:27And what is the most demoralizing thing in football is we're going to run the ball.
48:32You know we're going to run the ball. And you can't stop us.
48:35And Ben Johnson is stubborn enough to continue to do that.
48:39So, yes, the Eagles have a vendetta against this Bears running attack.
48:42But I don't know if they're actually going to be able to stop it.
48:46So, that's kind of the angle I'm looking at here, especially them playing at home.
48:51So, I get the Case Keenum's third string quarterback.
48:54But I think you could still see this Bears rushing attack still be effective against an Eagles defense that may be a
49:00tad bit overrated after these two weeks. All I heard you say was Kalmanonga rushing yards over.
49:05That's the only thing I heard out of all that.
49:08Who's also on the injury report again this week.
49:11I know. I know. More of a competitive game that'll be fun.
49:14Big game breakdowns. You guys kill that as always.
49:17Let's talk about our big calls and the thing to watch.
49:20But before we do, I want to give you an autographed jersey.
49:24Not a me. But a Todd Gurley. And that's pretty cool.
49:27You can get an autographed signed Rams jersey. And here's the only thing you've got to do.
49:32Well, there's two things. You've got to subscribe to the Tailgate YouTube channel.
49:36As we're recording this, we are like individual people away from hitting the 2K marker on the tailgate, which would be awesome.
49:43Maybe by the time this post, it's there. So you've just got to subscribe.
49:47Maybe be that 2K over. And then drop a comment.
49:50Leave a comment below. And that's it. One of the best opportunities to win an awesome prize right here on the tailgate.
49:56We'll be announcing a winner on the channel. So turn on notifications so you know when videos are up.
50:02So you can claim your prize. You don't just get it.
50:05You've got to be here to come and claim it and hit us up.
50:09Do that today. Subscribe. Make a comment. Win a Todd Gurley autographed jersey.
50:13Make the calls. I hit my make the call last week, by the way.
50:17I said the plus 4.5 Vikings were not only in play on the spread, but were a money line play.
50:23So thank you very much. I'll be honest with you.
50:26I don't remember what the hell you guys said, but I know I was super smart in that.
50:32I don't know if I'll be super smart this week.
50:35But, Pat, why don't you kick us off? Were you super smart last week?
50:39No, I was really dumb. I said Deshaun Watson was going to get benched.
50:43He winds up beating Baker May. Deshaun Watson is 8th in the league in passer rating right now.
50:48After that game against the Buccaneers. So, tough loss for the Buccaneers last week.
50:53All right, we'll make it up this week. Make it up this week.
50:56What's your big call? I'm going to stay on the quarterbacks, unwisely perhaps.
51:00I'm saying Patrick Mahomes throws for 400 plus yards against the Dolphins this week.
51:04The Chiefs offense has looked fabulous. I think having a legitimate running game with Kenneth Walker has opened things up for Patrick Mahomes.
51:11And this Dolphins secondary is the worst in the league.
51:14Maybe the worst in the league in the last 10 years.
51:18Like, this secondary is putrid. Yeah, who said that last week, Erickson?
51:21What? Who didn't say that? The Dolphins being terrible?
51:24I don't know. Who didn't? Oh, sad. It's right here.
51:27I like that call. I would only liked it more if you would have said 400 yards from Patrick Mahomes in the first half.
51:34That would have been the only thing that I would have liked a little bit more.
51:39Travis Kelsey to the moon on this one. That's a good call.
51:42Erickson, from what I remember, in my brain, you had a really good call last week as well, and you hit it.
51:49But I don't remember what the hell you said because I'm just thinking of commenting at rushing yards.
51:54I'm trying to look and see what I – because I literally don't remember what I said.
51:59I'm trying to look in the – Whatever you said was good.
52:03I remember you getting it. Yeah, well, just go with it, dude.
52:06You said something super smart. So say something smart again.
52:09I don't want to take credit if it wasn't smart because, I mean, I didn't have the super profitable week from picks inside.
52:16So let's go with this week, though. Quintra Judkins running back for the Cleveland Browns.
52:21Over 100 rushing yards. Two tutties against the Carolina Panthers atrocious run defense.
52:24That is the theme in our mascot for week three prop show on betting pros.
52:29Just tune in all Quintra Judkins. We contemplated if we could put together a card of ten straight plays of Quintra Judkins.
52:36I don't think we were able to do it.
52:38I think we got to like six, but we attempted it.
52:41But that will be our mascot there. And I almost put this on here, but I wanted to just do something else
52:48because I'm going to do it on the prop show.
52:51So mine, it's alluding a little bit to, I think, Fitzy, you were kind of talking about this earlier.
52:57I think this is going to be a get right spot for Drake May.
53:01Drake May, it's been bad. And we are seeing the fever pitch of conversation.
53:05I think all of us have seen the different, do I play Tyler Shuck over him?
53:10Should I trade Drake May? You can feel people are turning.
53:13And maybe one more game, if there's one more game, you're going to have the real turn.
53:18But I think this is a decent spot. Graded out wise, the Jacksonville Jaguars, as much as they're going to be playing
53:25on stopping some of the run, they currently rank 23 in wide receiver coverage, 23 in tight end coverage.
53:30And they're not covering the backs very well either.
53:33So I think this is an opportunity for them to have figured out all the mess over the last two weeks.
53:39Romeo Dobbs getting some confidence. They've got some of those.
53:42They don't have A.J. Brown, but they got some of the other pieces.
53:46Travion Henderson got right. Get him involved in the pass game.
53:49I think we're going to get the get right game so people stop complaining about Drake May.
53:54It'll be more vintage, 250 passing, two plus touchdowns.
53:57And I think he's going to do some stuff with his legs on the ground.
54:01So I'm going to say get right situation for Drake May.
54:05That might be the riskiest one. I found my prediction from last week.
54:09Okay. Was it good? Bengals beat the Texans. Let's go.
54:12Pretty good, right? That's all. We were pretty good.
54:14Just joking with Bogman. Bogman loves Denzel Boston this week and loves Casey Concepcion and loves the Judkins thing.
54:20And I'm like, okay. And he's like 27th on Deshaun Watson.
54:23I'm like, sorry, brother. You're going to have to love Deshaun Watson if you like.
54:28It would be really funny if Fitz is not wrong, but just was a week too early.
54:33Oh, it happens this week. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Because of that, it's a lot of three and outs.
54:38You know, the Boo Birds are going to be out.
54:41They're going to take a lot more than that one game to cure that for Shador Sanders.
54:46100%. If you guys are watching on YouTube, leave your favorite call in the comments and then hit the like button and subscribe to the Tailgate channel.
54:54We want to see what your biggest calls are for the week.
54:58If you're listening on the podcast, follow the show, leave us a comment, and give us a rate and reviewing.
55:04It does really help all the NFL fans out there and more NFL fans to find this show.
55:09If you watch on YouTube, just if you want to watch us on YouTube, just search Tailgate NFL.
55:14That's Tailgate NFL. One thing to watch for this week, my last week was the Chargers.
55:19And that was kind of like exactly what it was.
55:22And Fitzy, I think you're going to kind of tail back in because I don't disagree.
55:27I think this is a, like Drake made, it's kind of a fever pitch situation.
55:31Like, can we keep going with this? So you're kind of jumping on from my last week one as well with the Charger conversation.
55:38Yeah, I just want to see if there are any signs of life for the Chargers.
55:43In their road game against the Bills, really tough spot after losing by double digits at home to the Cardinals and Raiders.
55:50Steve Palazzolo and Sam Monson mentioned this on their podcast this week.
55:53The last time a team lost two straight home games by double digits to teams that had had sub 200 winning percentages
56:00the season before was the 1926 Racine Tornadoes, who played one more game after those two losses and then folded as a franchise.
56:07The Racine Tornadoes? What a name. And the Racine Tornadoes, yes, there was wreckage for that franchise after those two losses.
56:13And things do not look good for the Chargers in the upcoming six or seven weeks because their schedule is brutal.
56:19Dude, are they going to be the team that loses all the games?
56:23Was I just like, I was on the West Coast, but I was just wrong?
56:28Who's going to miss the Chargers? Probably nobody because they don't have fans.
56:31They don't have home games. It's, ugh. They are.
56:34Well, no, they did have fans, but yeah, they kind of, when they displace themselves, people got kind of lost.
56:40And if you look at their injury report this week, CBS list, receipt, length.
56:44Like, it's brutal. Mm. Erickson, one thing to watch for week three for you?
56:48Jameis Winston. I mean, because if we get the fun Jameis Winston, he is must-watch TV, anything but Aaron Rodgers.
56:54Like, the total opposite. Whatever Aaron Rodgers is, you don't want to watch.
56:58Jameis Winston is what you want to watch. So if they unleash him, especially as a market favorite, 29 games as a
57:05market favorite, Jameis Winston is 8, 20, and 1 against the spread, 27%.
57:09He is 0-5 in his last five starts. They're favorites here.
57:12This should be fun for a myriad of reasons because he could be turnover machine.
57:16He could be throwing touchdowns with like neighbors, four range type of outcome game.
57:20And I want to see what happens. Dude, by the way, is there an actual better, like, yin and yang, like, exact opposite player?
57:28Like, not just from a game script perspective, but like, everybody hates Rodgers.
57:31Everybody loves Winston. The only thing they have in common is they both do talk a lot.
57:37It would be like if Rodgers never spoke and then Winston just kept talking.
57:41But everything about them, like, Winston can throw like four picks and everyone's like, man, I wish he would just do better because I just love that guy.
57:49Rodgers throws one at an ankle and everyone's like, damn, I'm out of here.
57:53Give me two hours. Like, because he sucks. Give me two hours.
57:57Yeah, it's crazy. They are total polar opposites. My thing to watch here, and I almost want to caveat this because mine
58:03is actually a question to you guys to end the show.
58:07Who can't recover from an 0-3 start? And there are five potential teams.
58:10I believe two of them are playing each other, or no, four.
58:14You've got the Chargers, the Texans, the Colts, and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
58:18I think you guys have placed a kind of a marker that maybe it's the Chargers, but I'm just curious to sit
58:24your take here and maybe we take out the Chargers.
58:27But Erickson, what team cannot recover in your mind from an 0-3 start out of that?
58:32And by the way, there's other 0-3 starts, but I meant like teams that, you know, have some juice to them and
58:39we thought we're going to be contenders. Again, the Chargers, Texans, Colts, and Tampa Bay.
58:43I don't think any of these teams can recover.
58:46Actually, except the Texans because they were 0-3 last year.
58:49So they're the only one that's safe and they could afford to lose here against the Colts.
58:54But all these other teams, the Colts are going 0-3.
58:57Their head coach, GM, is on the hot seat.
58:59Ballard could get axed if they start 0-3. That would not shock me, especially the way that this Alec Pierce situation seemingly
59:06was botched about when he got his ankle surgery, the contract.
59:09They brought him back and he gets re-injured and they're defending it.
59:13So they're on the hot seat. Todd Bowles, how bad this Buccaneers team has been.
59:170-11 against the spread their last 11 games. When you're considering expectation, no team has been worse.
59:22When you're just considering the talent on the roster than the Tampa Bay Buccaneers since the start of the second half of last season into this year.
59:30I'd like to say the Chargers could recover, but the schedule does them absolutely no favor.
59:35So even if the offense can start clicking in some way, shape, or form, just putting more on Justin Herbert's shoulders, man, the offensive line is banged up.
59:44They're not running the ball effectively. Mike McDaniel, what are we doing here?
59:47So I'm not hopeful about any of those teams except the Texans because we have proof of concept because they were only
59:54three last year and they ended up digging their way out of it and they should get Nico Collins back sometime and that'll give them a boost.
60:02I like how you turned it. Fitzy, you can do the same thing, but I'd ask you, because I have 18, I have one team here.
60:10I'm going to say, what is one team that you think cannot recover from an 0-3 start?
60:15Oh, like Erickson, same answer. The only one that actually can is the Texans because they have a special unit with their defense.
60:22All these other teams, I mean, the Colts might have the worst defense in the league.
60:26They are a disaster. And, you know, as banged up as they are offensively, like it's just, it's hard to see.
60:33Not only the Pierce injury, but like Daniel Jones, is he the same guy after the injury he sustained last year?
60:39And that's my answer. It's the Colts. And I'm the guy that was on here like, oh, Colts will be a little.
60:45They got up to a hot start last year and then they faltered.
60:49I don't think they can recover. I think the Bucs are a talented offensive team.
60:54They are kind of going the side of, I mean, their defense is pretty bad too.
60:58Baker's just got to get right. And I think they become more competitive.
61:02I might be giving too much credit to the Chargers, but I think they are also just like way too talented and
61:09way too good of coaching that's existing out there for them to not be competitive.
61:13Colts defense is buns. They're a horrible defense. They're missing playmakers.
61:17They can't do anything offensively. There's no creativity. And one of the biggest things Erickson and I talked about, I think yesterday,
61:23is that one of the most important things is they've got to be able to, it's like shapes, like in pitching, in
61:30baseball, you would talk about pitcher shapes. And what that usually is, is like being able to change the eye.
61:36There's no shapes on their offense. What I mean by that is they can't stretch the field.
61:41Their shape is this right now. Great. You want to live by Jonathan Taylor, but you want to be able to spread out the defense.
61:48You want to get the ball to Tyler Warren and Josh Downs.
61:52How are they going to like be a force to spread out the ball deep?
61:56They're not creative offensively. Their defense is just a turnstile.
61:59So I just don't think the Colts are a team, unfortunately, of this list.
62:03If I had to only pick one, I don't know that they can recover from an 0-3 start.
62:09But what do you guys think? Drop it below.
62:11Which of those teams cannot recover? Do you think Jameis Winston is going to get like old Jameis Winston?
62:17And kind of same related, if the Chargers don't show signs of life, we might have to add them to the list.
