A.J. Brown

NegativeInjury1:59

A.J. Brown is dealing with a potential high ankle sprain that could sideline him for two to four weeks or longer. The source notes that his age makes a speedy recovery less likely and that such injuries tend to linger, potentially impacting his performance even after he returns.

Insight page

Bucky Irving

NegativeUsage30:42

Bucky Irving is considered a strong play with touchdown equity, especially if Sean Tucker is inactive. The source notes that while there is concern about a committee approach involving Kenny Gainwell, Irving is primed to be the goal-line back for the Buccaneers.

Insight page

Christian Watson

NegativeUsage45:39

Christian Watson is viewed as a secondary option behind Drake London, with the source noting a crowded receiver room in Green Bay and a tough matchup against the Vikings.

Insight page

Demario Douglas

NegativeUsage14:00

Demario Douglas is expected to see increased volume with A.J. Brown out, though his recent performance was described as 'empty volume' (five catches for 25 yards). The source views him as a potential DFS option in zone-heavy schemes.

Insight page

Drake London

PositiveUsage44:16

Despite concerns about quarterback play, Drake London remains a must-start due to high projected volume, with the potential for 10-12 targets if backup quarterbacks are forced to hyper-target their first read.

Insight page

Drake Maye

NegativeProjection2:07

Drake Maye struggled significantly in his recent performance, compounding errors with three interceptions in the fourth quarter. While the source acknowledges the difficulty of the Seahawks defense and the loss of A.J. Brown, they emphasize that Maye's decision-making was poor and worsened as the game progressed.

Insight page

Hunter Henry

PositiveUsage15:27

Hunter Henry is expected to see a slight uptick in usage and target share following the injury to A.J. Brown.

Insight page

Ja'Marr Chase

PositiveValue42:47

The source considers Jamar Chase an elite, near-untouchable dynasty asset and recommends trading for him if possible, even at the cost of pieces like Brock Purdy and Devante Smith.

Insight page

Jakobi Meyers

NegativeValue20:50

Jakobi Meyers is dealing with a wrist/thumb injury and is not expected to have a massive role in the passing game this week. The source suggests he is droppable in favor of stashing higher-upside players like Jonah Coleman.

Insight page

Javonte Williams

NegativeValue22:00

The source suggests that trading away Javonte Williams is difficult because his current market value is low and he is not producing at a high level. the source advises against selling low on him, noting that his production as an RB2 is likely better than what you would receive in a trade, and suggests holding him rather than forcing a bad deal.

Insight page

Jaylen Warren

NegativeUsage46:01

Jalen Warren is considered a safe flex option, though the source prefers the high-target floor of Drake London over him.

Insight page

Jonah Coleman

PositiveSleeper20:39

The source strongly recommends stashing Jonah Coleman, indicating they would drop players like Kayshawn Boutte or Jakobi Meyers to acquire him.

Insight page

Jonathon Brooks

NegativeUsage28:50

Jonathan Brooks is expected to play, but the source notes that Chuba Hubbard will also have a role, creating a potential committee. While Brooks has shown explosiveness and potential in the passing game during the preseason, his fantasy value is currently capped by the uncertainty of his workload and the presence of Hubbard.

Insight page

Jordan Mason

PositiveProjection28:50

The source leans toward starting Jordan Mason over Jonathan Brooks in half-PPR formats due to his health and higher touchdown equity. Mason is viewed as the safer play, especially with the Minnesota Vikings' offensive line healthy and the team likely to run the ball effectively.

Insight page

Josh Jacobs

NegativeInjury36:15

Josh Jacobs remains on the commissioner's exempt list following legal issues involving misdemeanor battery and property damage. The source anticipates a suspension of at least six to eight games, noting that the situation is serious and potentially career-threatening depending on the contents of undisclosed video evidence.

Insight page

Juwan Johnson

PositiveUsage41:08

Juwan Johnson is in a phenomenal spot for Week 1 production, making him a clear start over stash options like Ferguson.

Insight page

Kyler Murray

PositiveValue40:39

The source advises sticking with Kyler Murray over Tyler Shuck, citing his consistent running upside as a key fantasy advantage.

Insight page

MarShawn Lloyd

NegativeProjection26:53

Marshawn Lloyd is viewed as an unknown commodity with a wide range of outcomes. The source is concerned about the Packers' offensive line injuries and expects a committee approach, making it unlikely he exceeds 12 touches.

Insight page

Parker Washington

PositiveProjection23:31

Parker Washington is a strong start this week, particularly in full PPR formats. The source projects him for 5-7+ catches and 10+ targets because the Browns' defense is weaker in the slot than on the perimeter.

Insight page

Rhamondre Stevenson

PositiveUsage15:27

Rhamondre Stevenson is expected to maintain a heavy workload with plenty of touches in the Patriots' offense following the injury to A.J. Brown.

Insight page

Rico Dowdle

PositiveValue26:45

Rico Dowdle is a preferred start over Marshawn Lloyd. The source is high on Dowdle, citing a favorable game script against the Falcons and Mike McCarthy's tendency to feed his lead back.

Insight page

Romeo Doubs

NegativeUsage3:44

Romeo Doubs struggled in his opportunity, recording an egregious drop that contributed to a Drake Maye interception. The source notes he was playing behind Matt Collins to start the game and only saw increased usage after A.J. Brown's injury. While he may still be worth holding, the source expresses low confidence in him as a waiver wire priority.

0:00This is an iHeart Podcast. Guaranteed Human. Call 1-800-GRANGER, click Grainger.com, or stop by.
0:04Grainger, for the ones who get it done. Grainger, they have a very, very politely have their hands raised and we are
0:11going to bring them up just like it's class, schools in session, where you guys are going to get to come up,
0:18ask us questions, and you dictate the pace and the vibe of the show.
0:22That is it. I mean, we sometimes have a little thing or two planned, but we are going to be answering your
0:28questions, your start and sit, everything but your Thursday night football questions.
0:32I'll tell this, we talked a little bit before the podcast, we're going to be tough on crime this year.
0:38Erickson plays the nice guy, he's good cop, I'm bad cop, but even Erickson's gone to bad cop.
0:44If we hear Thursday night football mentions, it's an immediate boot off.
0:47Not like you're going to kick you out of the room, we're just going to lock your question out.
0:53So no Thursday night questions. If you're listening to this podcast, you should hear a clean, it should be clean living for you for no Thursday night.
1:01And if you do, you're going to hear someone get booted off.
1:05So we're going to be tough on crime this year.
1:08Mr. Andrew Erickson, the big question. How are you doing after one of the most abysmal performances of a second half you
1:15could have had really by your quarterback? There's obviously a big piece of news out there.
1:19A.J. Brown could have a really, really bad injury.
1:22We don't know at this moment. It could be two weeks to a season, apparently on recording.
1:27And Drake was absolutely horrific with his third pick.
1:30But what was your initial takes on the A.J.
1:33Brown situation with what is being deemed as maybe a high ankle sprain?
1:37I think I've seen as much as like four weeks.
1:40But once the MRI is out there, there could be something a lot worse that could be floating that maybe there's something nefarious.
1:47But what's your take on A.J. Brown? It could be one of those worst injuries in terms of, yeah, maybe he's not out for the season.
1:55But when he does come back, is he back to himself?
1:58Right. These things tend to linger with these skilled position players.
2:01And someone like A.J. Brown, where it doesn't work in his favor, is that he is older.
2:06So the recovery, you're expecting to not be as speedy as a 23-year-old, 24-year-old spring chicken wide receiver.
2:12So that's really unfortunate. Hurts for Drake May as well because you obviously saw the offensive performance when A.J.
2:18Brown was playing. And then when he was off the field and they were forced to put Romeo Dobbs in the game.
2:24I mean, Romeo Dobbs, what a disaster. Romeo Dobbs had an egregious drop.
2:28I mean, Matt Collins was playing ahead of him to start the game.
2:32I don't know if you were listening to the whole thing.
2:36It was really interesting. They were saying how essentially, and this is a testament to the Seahawks defense, the CX had bottlenecked
2:42them into having one player per defensive scheme. It was like Romeo Dobbs was the man guy because he, you know, good separator on man.
2:50And Matt Collins was the guy that was the zone breaker.
2:53And I think they even called it. I think it was, was it Collinsworth?
2:57Even called. He was like, well, I think up at top because they got a zone read here.
3:03It's going to go to Matt Collins on that slant route.
3:06Bam. It's exactly what it was. They became, the point of this is they became, this is a testament again to that defense.
3:13It became one dimensional, but even more one dimensional because to your point, Romeo Dobbs, Matt Collins, all they could do was
3:20essentially have like one read per defensive scheme. And it made them, and you know, Drake may was forced into some really bad decisions.
3:27My predictions and Drake may look really bad, but yeah, it was a rough go, but we do have to acknowledge that
3:34like, this is one of the toughest defenses out there.
3:37Yes. I think that's good context to provide. And the fact that the game plan clearly was to get AJ Brown involved.
3:43He was getting more involved in the first half of the game.
3:47And then when he got knocked out, they had to kind of change on the fly.
3:52Biggest issue last year was the Patriots didn't have guys that could beat man coverage.
3:56And in this game, they lost the guy that could beat man coverage and Romeo Dobbs did not show up.
4:03And when he had his opportunities, he fell flat.
4:05So I don't think that this means that he is done and cooked.
4:09I said it tongue in cheek last night that he's an overpaid bust already.
4:13Him and Rashid Shaheed get all this money in free agency, combining for one cash for four yards on six targets with
4:20one interception and one massive drop for Romeo Dobbs, obviously.
4:23And that was one of the, that predicted one of the interceptions for Drake May.
4:28So the first one I can live with, like you threw it up.
4:32It's a 50, 50 ball. Dobbs didn't come down with it, whatever.
4:35Okay. The second one was at right after the Dobbs drop where Drake was definitely trying to force a little bit.
4:42Okay. I got to make a play because we missed out on this big third down conversion or this big play that Dobbs dropped.
4:49And then that gets picked off. And then the last one was obviously the worst.
4:53The interceptions were compounding and getting worse and worse.
4:56He was continually making bad decision and then just compounding it with another bad decision, like continuously digging a hole that ended
5:03up burying the Patriots obviously at the end of the game.
5:06So I thought that throw was so bad. I thought that he was trying to throw it away.
5:12It was. He was trying to, did you hear?
5:14He was trying to throw it away and he just threw it right to the, it was so bad.
5:20He couldn't throw the ball out of the, he threw it right into their hands.
5:25So it was, it was pretty egregious. So given the optics of the matchup, the fact that the Patriots, I think at
5:31one point I checked on NFL pro, they were 82% likely to win this game.
5:36And when you draw a backup quarterback, five snaps into the game and you find a way to lose, despite having a
5:43lead in the second half, you have three turnovers in the fourth quarter.
5:47That's going to absolutely kill you. So I love drew lock by the way, obviously really big disappointing night for the Patriots
5:53and man, I was kicking myself for not having any action in on that.
5:57Eli Raritan first touchdown. I'm surprised you didn't. I'm surprised you didn't.
6:01All right. I know. Cause that's such a, that's such a bet that I definitely would like to be in on the most you bet of all time.
6:10I know. I know. And then the fact that I missed out, I mean, I was Bomo was 15 plus to one tight end first touchdown.
6:17Now, what are we talking about? You were built.
6:20I know quick, uh, two quick asides. So sad.
6:23I think it's probably one of the greatest times to go and buy me right now in fantasy and whatever capacity, like it's, it's a horrific run.
6:31There are people of friends that I had that like were worried about may and the schedule and dah, dah, dah.
6:37I would go and try to acquire him on the cheap.
6:41The secondary is, is what is the beneficiary with AJ Brown out?
6:44Is it truly going to be Romeo Dobbs? He looks so bad.
6:48Could it be a Demario Douglas? Is it just the non-skill?
6:51Is it just like the, or the non-wide receivers?
6:54Is it only going to be Hunter Henry and Ramondre Stevenson?
6:57Like if there's one person that takes the biggest benefit you in theory, you want to say Romeo Dobbs, but is it truly, truly going to be Dobbs?
7:06Yeah. This one is tough because I think you asked me this a week away, a week ago, let's say AJ Brown gets hurt in practice.
7:14Then Dobbs automatically becomes the next guy in line.
7:17But, and this goes back to that episode that we lost, got, got nuked when I went to training camp for the Patriots.
7:24The 42 minute, the open of Patriot talk. Yep.
7:26Watching them play. Matt Collins stood out to me a lot in that practice.
7:31And he just, the way that he carried himself, the way that he was making plays down the field.
7:36And the fact that he was playing ahead of Romeo Dobbs in this game.
7:41There was only until AJ Brown went down that they started using Dobbs more.
7:45So maybe we just had this depth chart incorrect.
7:48And Matt Collins has actually been ahead of Romeo Dobbs.
7:51And in this game, it was very apparent who Drake may was going to in clutch moments.
7:56It was Matt Collins. So I think that in the short term, I think Matt Collins is based on the chemistry and
8:02rapport that he already has with Drake may. I think that he's going to continue to see a lot of volume in this Patriots passing attack.
8:10So he's actually the one that I think I would probably gravitate to more.
8:14I'm not trying to say that I would bury Romeo Dobbs.
8:18But I mean, after this performance, it's really hard to have a lot of confidence going in to get him off of waivers with a massive bid.
8:26I think that he's definitely worth holding on to kind of see if things change for the Patriots.
8:31I know they do have a tough schedule coming, but I would say for right now, Matt Collins is probably the guy I have the most confidence in.
8:40Demario Douglas should also see a bunch of volume.
8:43Although last night it was really like empty volume.
8:45I think that he had five catches for 20 yards, 25 yards.
8:49It was most of it was all empty. They got a Steelers defense next week.
8:54It'll be interesting. I don't know. I think like zone schemes, Mac definitely can thrive.
8:58I think it's more of a DFS option. I still am with Romeo Dobbs for a couple of weeks.
9:04I think I think really pop is probably the one that you could actually go pick up.
9:09I don't think if you could pick up Dobbs, I would go do it just because I don't think this is done.
9:16And I think they're going to they're going to scheme this differently and get him to be able to thrive a little bit more.
9:23But I think pop is a guy that is going to have some trust.
9:27But also it's a it's a slight uptick for Hunter Henry and obviously reminder Stevenson, you know, with plenty of touches there.
9:34So there you go. A little bit of a Wednesday night breakdown.
9:38And we probably wouldn't usually I mean, there's not going to be any other Wednesdays, but we usually wouldn't talk about it.
9:44But there are a couple of big key points there.
9:47A major wide receiver going down, which looks like it could be at minimum for two to four weeks.
9:53And then, you know, one of the top three quarterbacks just struggling beyond belief.
9:57So a lot to talk about. I would not anticipate having AJ Brown for at least a month.
10:03I think that they would probably just put him on the short term injury reserve, knock him out for four weeks because
10:09you don't want him coming back too quickly because then he that's how you just get re-injured with a high ankle sprain.
10:16You know, you know, who's floating out there? I wish Keshaw Booty was still available.
10:21Your boy, your boy, Brandon Ayuk. Your Brandon boy, Brandon Ayuk.
10:24He's just sitting around, just like staring at the wall, walking in circles.
10:28He's the Patriots did want him at one point.
10:31And he said, yeah, have them. You guys can have them.
10:34All right. If you guys want to join the fun and never, you know, get lost episode.
10:39We've been joking about this on another show that we did have one episode of this show.
10:44You guys probably know that was the last episode because I was messing with recordings trying to sound better and I made it sound worse.

11:16Finally, we actually spend a little bit of extra time after it is from extra point to extra time where we answer
11:22a few of the Thursday night questions that we don't answer on here.
11:26We have cameras on. You can hang out with us.
11:29It's a ton of fun. Fantasy pros dot com slash chat to join and you can catch us every Thursday at 2 p.m.
11:36Eastern, but also you've got every Tuesday. This is not updated this script here, but I think it's like the third Tuesday or third or second Tuesday.
11:45I don't know. Just sign up Boggs and Fitz.
11:47Sorry, I'm butchering that, but I don't know what it is.
11:51Boggs and Fitz are 5 p.m. Eastern one of the Tuesdays.
11:54I think it's a third Tuesday and then Worm and Fitz are 5 p.m.
11:58Eastern on the first Tuesday of every month. So first and third, I believe at 5 p.m.
12:03You can catch Fitz with his cast of characters and you can catch us 2 p.m.
12:08Eastern every Thursday. All right. Shut up. Welsh. Let's get to the questions.
12:12Let's talk to the boys. Let's talk to Cornwallis first up.
12:16What's up, dude? Hopefully this week short and simple.
12:18Just looking some advice on Dowdle or Marshawn Lloyd in PPR.
12:22And then a second question is, would you drop Kayshawn Booty or Jacoby Myers or or both for Terrence Ferguson and Jonah Coleman as stashes?
12:29Okay. Let's work our way backwards. Terrence Ferguson and.
12:32Already played. Oh, yeah. Oh, I wasn't even registering that.
12:35Good call. Let's focus. Oh, man. First one up in the season.
12:39Butchered it. Jonah Coleman. Do you want to stash Jonah Coleman?
12:42Yes. Yes. I want to stash Jonah Coleman over.
12:45Then I'm dropping both receivers. What was the other guy?
12:48It was Jonah Coleman. Jacobi Myers. Oh, oh, yeah.
12:50No, I know you could drop Jacobi Myers. I have no problem dropping Jacobi Myers to pick up Jonah Coleman.
12:56But as a stash, what was the other guy he could pick up?
13:00Do you remember? It was Jonah Coleman. Oh, and Booty.
13:03I'm not interested in Booty. Booty's the guy he has.
13:06He has Booty and Myers. Oh, okay. He's trying to drop one for Jonah Coleman.
13:11Jonah Coleman. Jonah Coleman. I would drop both of those guys.
13:14I would drop Booty before Myers, though. Do you agree?
13:17Okay. Yep. All right. There you go. Man Lee Ness.
13:20Premium member on the Fantasy Pros Discord. What's up, man?
13:23Hey, guys. Can you hear me? Yes, we can hear you.
13:27Awesome. So in my matchup this week, I'm playing against JSN.
13:30And I have Brock Bowers, who I just saw as hurt.
13:33So I'm trying to sort of react without overreacting.
13:36In my flex spot right now, I've got David Montgomery.
13:39But this is a smaller PPR league, so I have some good options on my bench.
13:44I have Luther Burden, Christian Watson, and Parker Washington, who are 24 to 25, 26 in ECR.
13:49But I was noticing that both of you have Parker Washington rated higher than the other two receivers this week.
13:55I'm just curious. Is it maybe worth switching away from Montgomery to one of those receivers as sort of an upside play?
14:02And if so, would you say that's Parker Washington?
14:05Did you say it's full PPR or half PPR?
14:07Full PPR, yes. Oh, yes, sir. I would definitely go with Parker Washington.
14:11Me and Andrew Erickson are of the ilk that Parker Washington will be littered with targets.
14:16Five, six, seven plus catches? Yes. Parker Washington for the win there.
14:20What do you think, Erickson? Cosign. Agreed. Give me more.
14:23Washington beat. I want to hear you talk. Give me 30 seconds of Parker Washington.
14:27Pretend he's a Patriot. 30 seconds of Parker Washington.
14:30Pretend he's a Patriot for a minute. Pretend he's on the Patriot.
14:34I wish he was on the Patriots. Then he watched.
14:37Oh my God, Brian Thomas Jr., come on down to the New England Patriots.
14:41We need some wide receivers. Oh, there would be a good trade market.
14:45I would say the Browns defensively. Debra was talking about this in one of his tweets that I think he talked about in the primer as well.
14:53They have really strong perimeter cornerbacks and that makes sense based on the personnel.
14:57They're much weaker in the slot. So I think that's exactly how the Jaguars will look to attack them when they go through the air.
15:05It will be Parker Washington. And apparently the rumors and rumblings have been they're trying to get this contract done.
15:11But if they don't do it until after week one, they might have to pay him more money because apparently he's set to smash this week.
15:19So Parker Washington locked a loaded fantasy wide receiver to definitely going to be a top 24 guy.
15:24Brian Thomas Jr. Is going to be running a lot of the go routes, opening things up underneath.
15:30And you could be Myers is still dealing with some wrist thumb injury thing.
15:34He's still expected to play, but you could imagine that he maybe not have a massive plan for the offensive passing game.
15:41And we've gone. Dude, that was perfect. That's exactly.
15:44That's what I wanted. That's what I wanted. By the way, exactly 30 seconds.
15:48I think you might've hit like exactly 30 seconds.
15:50Someone can time that. That was beautiful. But yeah, it is.
15:54It's mainly about the perimeter corners and like Trevor Lawrence is going to be looking at Parker Washington all day.
16:0010 plus targets. I forgot with Cornwallis. We forgot the first question, which was Rico Dowdle.
16:05I'm forgetting now who the other running back was, but I'm, I'm a Rico Dowdle Stan.
16:10Marshawn Lloyd. Marshawn. Oh yeah. I would also go Rico Dowdle.
16:13But I'm a, yeah, I'm a Rico Dowdle Stan.
16:16Game script is perfect for someone like Rico Dowdle.
16:18Marshawn Lloyd is still very much an unknown commodity.
16:21This Packers Vikings game is really intriguing in terms of a lot of the moving pieces.
16:26You have a new quarterback for the Minnesota Vikings.
16:29Minnesota also added some defensive players in the draft.
16:31So we'll see how they do up front. Packers are dealing with a lot of injuries on their offensive line.
16:37There are three of their starters who are banged up with knee injuries, which is never a good sign.
16:43They're playing on the road. So Lloyd has a, how we like to put it as a wide range of outcomes.
16:50Whereas Rico, it just seems like Mike McCarthy, don't overthink this.
16:53You're playing a Falcons offense led by a bad quarterback.
16:56They're playing on the road. You're at home. Just feed Rico Dowdle, get the win.
17:01And Uncle Rico. I kind of think what you saw out of the Seahawks is what you'll see out of the Packers in that.
17:08What was it? Jadarian Price had 10 carries and then it was, and Helani had eight and then Amino Wilson had two.
17:14I think you might see that between Marshawn Lloyd, Chris Brooks and Caleb Johnson.
17:19I think, I just don't know if Marshawn Lloyd's going to push over that like 12 touch marker.
17:24So I would definitively go. I think that'll be in a great spot.
17:28And by the way, there was ever a marker for our age gap.
17:32It's perfectly aligned to your memory. Like how old, like these guys are telling me something and I'm immediately like, huh?
17:38Well, and you just have it. It just imprints in your brain.
17:42Your memory is beautiful. It's a beautiful, it's a young brain there.
17:46My brain is fried and all jacked up on that Mountain Dew.
17:49And I just can't like, I hear those. I'm like, well, I got one guy and then you've got all three.
17:56So it's very impressive. I'm very impressed with your memory.
17:59When it comes to fantasy stuff. Yes. My memory is like an elephant.
18:03I never forget. However, when it comes to things that my wife says, oh man, I am very, very bad.
18:09There's only so much space. Yeah. There's only so much space for us for memory.
18:13So some things are going to have to go.
18:16So sorry. The grocery list is going to have to go for who's RB 37 for this week.
18:21All right. Catalyst. What's up, Catalyst? Hey guys. Thanks for having me on the show.
18:26And just so you know, I updated my Dynasty team name to the Mendoza effect based on last week's show.
18:32Love it. That's great. We started sooner rather than later.
18:35Yeah. Yeah. So I wanted to follow up with you guys based on like trying to move scat.
18:41I haven't been very successful from upgrading at the RB2 position.
18:44I've been trying to target Kyron and Javante. I've had no success.
18:48And everyone else is just holding on to them or just and just being very strategic with the running backs that they would have to upgrade.
18:55So right now, I'm just currently trying to ride scat train.
18:59Hopefully. Do you think that his market will increase in the next four weeks based on the schedule?
19:04Let me ask you a side question, though. On those trades, are you going scataboo and somebody?
19:09Or are you just trying to do one? Like, what does that look like when people are rebuffing you?

19:34Hi, this is Kylie Brakeman, Angela Jaritana, Jeremy Colhane, Patrick McDonald, and we're the hosts of the Artists on Artists on Artists on Artists podcast.
19:42The Improvised Character Comedy podcast where each week a new panel of artists discuss their craft.
19:47Join us for a panel of wellness influencers. What I try to do is faux journal.
19:52I don't know. Have you guys heard of faux journaling?
19:55Yeah, it's reading. It's called reading. So we don't like to use that word anymore.
19:59Okay. A panel of New Yorker cartoonists. Have you guys done Terry Gross's Peloton class yet?
20:04No! I've been dying to. I'm so sorry. I'm seeing a reading of Sadako and the Thousand Paper Cranes by Audra McDonald at the Wonderland bookstore on 14th.
20:12That's crazy. I went to the Wonderland bookstore yesterday and I heard Nora Jones do a reading of Zero Dark Thirty.
20:19No way. We'll have to come to the last bookstore, though.
20:22Kim Cattrall is reading the guitar tabs of yesterday.
20:25A panel of Eurovision participants. And we do a little Halloween sometimes.
20:28Does the Pope dress up? He winks on Halloween.
20:31He gets right up next to the microphone. I hear you can almost hear the eyelashes hit each other.
20:37You've never seen Italy so quiet as when the Pope gets up to wink on Halloween.
20:42Listen to Artists on Artists on Artists on Artists on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts.
20:48Hey, this is Robert Lamb. And this is Joe McCormick.
20:51And we're the hosts of the Stuff to Blow Your Mind podcast.
20:55This week on the show, it's Star Trek. So we're going to be talking about the Borg all week long.
21:01Are you ready to get some probes put in your flesh?
21:04That's right. Tune in. Resistance is futile. We're going to talk science, the culture of the Borg, various interpretations.
21:10And we're going to talk about Star Trek First Contact on Weird House Cinema on Friday.
21:15Listen to Stuff to Blow Your Mind on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts.
21:21So for the Javante trade, I did get and Jay McMillan for Javante.
21:25I got replied with Hertz, Javante for my quarterback May and Skat.
21:28Okay. Yeah, I mean, I don't think Skat, I don't think McMillan moves the needle like whatsoever.
21:33So I think that's kind of low. Were there any others or because I guess my point is, is like, yeah, the
21:40Scataboo run doesn't look great right now. And I mean, I guess to your point, your question is like, do we think this is going to improve?
21:48I kind of don't. But at the same time, like Harbaugh could prove us wrong.
21:53Like, you know, I was going back through and looking funny enough, getting into bets for like Sunday night.
21:59And we've got a show on betting pros and trying to prep.
22:02But you look and you just see like how involved he was in the passing game.
22:07And like the carries really picked up, you know, right before the injury and he was used dominantly.
22:12There's a little bit of an unknown with Harbaugh.
22:15Like they brought in Najee. Najee can kind of play that pounding role.
22:19They'd still have Tyrone Tracy. Like, is it going to be a committee?
22:23Is it going to be full? If it's full commitment, I'm not sure this is the game for it.
22:29But I think there's an opportunity for him to improve.
22:32I just am kind of I'm a little out on Kim Skadaboo and I'm a little bit worried that the touches are going to lower.
22:39So he's going to have to be optimized in a way for him to improve.
22:44Like he's going to have to take advantage of, you know, 14, 15 touches.
22:48There's going to have to be a lot of touchdowns.
22:51They don't have Najee vulturing those type of things for him to improve his value.
22:56So my main point to that is, is like, I think you're in a space where you need to either you need
23:03to improve your offers to get a running back up instead of hoping and thinking that Kim Skadaboo is going to improve
23:09where someone's going to be like, oh, I do want Kim Skadaboo over Javante.
23:13But what do you think about that, Erickson? Skadaboo is tough, I think, right now because.
23:18Everyone kind of is reading the tea leaves about the concerns with this offense overall, that it could be a committee.
23:25How excited are we that Matt Nagy is calling plays on the offense?
23:29Not really excited. So Skadaboo, especially with the injury that he's coming off of, the fact that he even talked about openly
23:35about retiring after having a season long injury. That is something that's always very concerning, especially when you're talking about in a dynasty context.
23:43So, again, you can up the ante with your offer.
23:46But eventually you're going to reach a point where you might just have to hold Skadaboo and be like, his production is
23:52going to outweigh whatever I could get in a trade because it feels like you're going to be selling low on Skadaboo.
23:59And I think that the mostly negative outlook for him for his dynasty is going to keep his price relatively low in value.
24:06And you're not actually going to get what you would earn or what you should get for his actual on-field production, which I think RB2 is fine.
24:14And I get you're trying to upgrade your RB2, but I think the more aggressive you're trying to be to get off
24:21of a player, the more likely you are to make a bad trade.
24:25So that's something that I've always found where you run into a lot of issues where I just got to get rid of this guy.
24:32And then you sell him for pennies on the dollar and you immediately regret it because you should have just said, hey, I'll just bank the production.
24:40We'll ride off into the sunset with Skadaboo on my roster and we'll move on with our day.
24:46So Welsh, it seems like you agree with me there.
24:49I just couldn't agree with you more. I mean, the thing I – Dynasty – and I think a cool thing if
24:56you ever listen to this, not that this is a dynasty podcast, but Ericsson and I have different philosophies, especially when it
25:02comes to player valuations and dynasty and stuff and sometimes approach.
25:06But like, man, over the years, whenever someone comes in and they're like, here's the guy.
25:10I want to trade him. These are the offers.
25:13And we're like, well, these offers suck. And it's like, well, I want to trade him and this is all the league will give up.
25:21Well, screw the league. I do – I am – I get so sick of that where people are like, well, I
25:27want to trade this guy and this is the only value.
25:31If the value doesn't match up, then hold the guy.
25:34Hold – like if – I hate seeing those inferior trades and then the people are like, well, I just got to trade him.
25:41And this is only the – and this is not happening in this situation.
25:45But man, have I heard it a billion times in a billion different sports of baseball and football.
25:51And I just am so hard-headed about that. And sometimes it works great.
25:55Sometimes it blows up in your face. But when you have an asset – like, Cam Scadaboo is a young running back.
26:01We've seen what the top looks like. I'm willing to take that risk.
26:05I'm willing to take that risk. If he fails more, the value goes down than just being like, well, this is just
26:12what the people will pay right now. And just like, well, then just try to play it out.
26:17I hate making – I hate punching down trades.
26:20I hate it so much in Dynasty because people want to dictate that so much.
26:25Oh, well, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah. This is the league.
26:28I just – I feel very adamant about that.
26:31And it's – I've just heard it a billion – it's actually usually always to older players, by the way.
26:37It's usually not to like a 23-year-old running back.
26:40It's usually to like a 29-year-old running back. And it's like, well, you know, he's like, I got a couple more years and people are da-da-da-da-da.
26:47And I just – I so stand by what you said of like just don't compromise in trades just because like two
26:54people in the league are only willing to give you this right now.
26:58I think too, if you want to approach it from a different perspective – and this is something that I have been
27:05trying to talk more about on the trade show that I do with Wyrm every single week.
27:10It's less about the players and more about the managers.
27:13So when we see games played out, we see guys go down with injuries.
27:17Everyone in a super flex format that has Sam Donald now has a quarterback issue.
27:22Okay, they have a need for something. Can you fulfill that need with something on your roster?
27:27Can you make a trade? Because what facilitates deals getting done when one manager needs something and another manager is trying to upgrade something?
27:34So find the Sam Donald manager in a super flex format.
27:37Reach out to them. Hey, do you want to make a deal with a quarterback or a skill position player?
27:44Same thing with the A.J. Brown manager. They're hurting at wide receiver now.
27:47What if they have a surplus of running backs?
27:50So, okay, maybe you can't move off Scadaboo, but you can get a different running back on your roster along the Scadaboo,
27:57and then you can trade off one of your receivers.
28:00So that's something to also think about. It's not always about the players.
28:04It's about identifying the certain managers to actually get deals done.
28:07Boom. Boom and boom. Bucks man. What's up, Bucks man?
28:10What up, dude? I just got a couple start-sit questions here.
28:14First one, in a half PPR league, would you start Jonathan Brooks or Jordan?
28:18What in Mason at Flicks? Ooh. Oh, man. I guess I'm going to say Jonathan.
28:22Did you say half PPR, right? That's the brain thing.
28:25I think if the conversation is positive around Brooks, I'm going to do that because I think he can be an asset.
28:32It might be better in full, but in half PPR still.
28:35But if we're getting negative conversation around it and like, ooh, he's going to be limited and that heavy come Saturday, I
28:42have no problem going to Jordan Mason. What do you think, Erickson?
28:46Yeah, I think you've got to keep tabs on the Brooks injury status.
28:50Seems like he's going to play. However, seems like Chuba Hubbard's also going to play a role.
28:55It's a good matchup against the Chicago Bears. I don't fear the matchup, though, for Jordan Mason.
29:00I guess for me, Welsh, and I'm looking right now on ECR.
29:04Of course, these guys are ranked back-to-back. RB 32 for Mason.
29:07Really? And Jonathan Brooks is ECR RB 35. So Brooks is actually behind Mason.
29:11Wow. I do think that the format actually might lean Mason.
29:15If you had to bet on who would score a touchdown, you would probably bet Mason.
29:19I would bet Mason, yeah. Yeah. So in a half PPR where I think Brooks is more likely to see receptions out
29:26of the backfield and Chuba Hubbard is also healthy.
29:29I think I'm actually leaning Mason here. And this is a ranking I probably have to update in real time.
29:35I'm not so afraid of the Packers defensive front.
29:38The Minnesota Vikings offensive line is healthy. They're playing at home.
29:41I think they can run the ball a decent amount with Kyler Murray under center.
29:45Got the mobility. So I think I'm actually going to lean towards Mason.
29:49Yeah, that's not helpful. That's because I know he's 100% healthy, too.
29:53No, it's a good point. It's just I also assume the Panthers are going to be playing from behind the whole time.
30:00And Jonathan Brooks has really looked good in the passing game as far as like, you know, preseason has gone and practices.
30:06And I think they've talked about wanting to use him a lot more.
30:10So start to wonder if he's a, you know, even if it's a 7 to 10 carry, but he's a 5 or 6 target guy.
30:18Like there's a lot of big explosiveness there. But Jordan Mason is a lot safer.
30:22So play it that way. What was number two Bucks man?
30:26Yeah. So the last question in the league, I have AJ Brown starting in.
30:30I got to make up some points here. So I was wondering in the flex on the standard league, would you go
30:37T-Mac or Bucky Irvin in the flex? Ooh, team a standard league to T-Mac or Bucky Irving.
30:42Oh man, I like both matchups. I feel like I'm going to say Ted Aroa McMillan there.
30:47Yeah. For the touchdown equity. I think you got to go T-Mac for the pure upside against the Chicago Bears defense that
30:54we've talked about all offseason is absolutely terrible. The Bengals defense was terrible last year.
30:58Still remains to be seen if they've gotten better, but they did try to get better this offseason.
31:04And I think it does matter that Dexter Lawrence is on the defensive line now versus he was not there at all last year.
31:11So you can't copy and paste how bad the Bengals were against running backs last year because they added a pretty substantial
31:18piece to the interior of their defensive line. So I don't think it's as good of a matchup.
31:23Again, still think Bucky's a great play, especially with Sean Tucker, probably not going to play in this game.
31:29So he also has a lot of touchdown equity in a game with a high total.
31:34However, we have also seen Bengals games in the past in week one be terrible because this offense just comes out and these games are not fun.
31:42So I would go with T-Mac. What we did not consider is that that was Bucks, man.
31:47And we didn't give that consideration, though. This is are we going to tell a Bucks fan to sit Bucky Irving?
31:53That's tough to do. I'm just really worried. All of our hearts are going to break when it's like Bucky first, second,
32:00and then Kenny Gainwell third, fourth and back to Bucky fifth, sixth.
32:04This is on the same drive. And then we're at the goal line and Sean Tucker comes in and just ruins injury.
32:10He might not even play. Well, I mean, that actually would lead me a little bit more Bucky because I think Bucky
32:17is primed to be that goal line back here.
32:20I think it's really close in a standard league.
32:22I lean to Tedderall McMillan on the touchdown side, but I think it's kind of a one to punch, especially if Tucker's out.
32:29But I just feel like my heart would be broken and we're not considering he's a Bucks fan.
32:35He's gonna be mad at us. So we have Tedderall McMillan and Bucky scores a touchdown.
32:40So he'll be happy either way then. He'll be happy if it walks out.
32:44And Bucky has a good game. And if T-Mac has a good game.
32:48I mean, he drafted a Panther and he's a Bucks fan.
32:51I'm just saying. That's a good point. It's actually a really good point.
32:55There you go. Bucks, man. All right. Before we continue on, my playbook.

33:44Who else has we got? We got Nick. What's up, Nick?
33:48Hey, guys. I have a question for you. I ended up having both Loveland and Burden on the same team.
33:54Never had a predicament about starting multiple people from the same team before.
33:58I do have Parker Washington also and Chris Godwin in a good matchup and QJ.
34:02So viable options. I'm assuming Parker Washington's probably the play.
34:05It's half PPR for my wide receiver two slot.
34:08But just curious how you would kind of game plan that.
34:11And I guess also just like rest of the season, having two high draft spots from the same team.
34:17Hopefully they ball out. But yeah, just the start this week.
34:20Just like overall thoughts on that. You gave us a lot of wide receivers.
34:25How many wide receivers slash flexes can you start?
34:27This is simply for my wide receiver two spots.
34:30So it's just one out of the four guys.
34:33Oh, so it's Luther Burden, Parker Washington, Quentin Johnston, and Chris Godwin.
34:36I got them all. My brain's working. Ginkgo, Ginkgo Biloba.
34:40Parker Washington. Yeah, Parker Washington for the play. But what do you and then?
34:44OK, we've already kind of expanded as far as where we are in Parker Washington.
34:48I have above all those guys. What do you think about that idea?
34:52I don't get really too hung up on having multiple pass catchers on the same team.
34:57But is there there anything that I don't know?
35:00I mean, I guess I feel like he's alluding to like, should he be making a move to like consolidate the roster because he's got both Bears players?
35:08No, because I think the Bears are going to be a very concentrated passing tree between three guys where Colif Raymond is
35:15the number four wide receiver, but he's really more there for special teams.
35:19And if one of these guys goes down, we've already seen Burden deal with injury.
35:23Roman Dunze deal with an injury. We don't even know if he's going to play 100%.
35:28So I think it's fine if the offense is good, then you can feature multiple fantasy assets.
35:33So I wouldn't worry about that. And I think this is a trap that you can get caught into where I got
35:40to sell one of my Bears players because I already have another Bears player.
35:44I feel like that's bad process, especially if you think that the Bears are going to be a good offense.
35:50If you think they're going to be a bad offense, then it's different.
35:54But I think most of us would agree that the Bears based on their defense, based on Ben Johnson, calling the shots,
36:01Caleb Williams in year three, we're expecting fireworks from a very concentrated passing attack.
36:05Yeah, I'm down with it. Sorry, I was actually reading.
36:08I don't know if you saw this, not to get distracted here, but you see that they had the legal filings posted
36:15today of Josh Jacobs and that situation kind of keeping in division, by the way.
36:20As in they disclosed the details of his crimes?
36:22They disclosed what he has done and well, not what has come to an agreement.
36:27And he's pleading no contest to misdemeanor charges of battery and criminal damage to property.
36:31The NFL said there is, quote, no timetable as when he could be disciplined.
36:36A league official said we've been closely monitoring all developments in the matter, which remain under review under the personal conduct policy.
36:42There's no change on the status as he remains on the commissioner's list.
36:46But there's a court filing of information that shows that it's a no contest to a misdemeanor.
36:51So there's a misdemeanor. There's a whole big thing here that says he agreed to enter a plea.
36:57There's a fine. It's like a thousand dollar fine that's attached to it.
37:01Very weird terminology that's put to it. And the court is suspending the proceeding on criminal damage to property count for 12
37:07months, at which time it will be dismissed upon completion of the terms of his agreement.
37:12So that's a little, I don't know, legally that gets thrown into there for that.
37:17I guess it had come down a tiny bit ago.
37:20I didn't see it, but I just saw that.
37:23But very interesting because the court date was today as we're recording this and the NFL making no statement on a change.
37:29Because I think a lot assumed that, you know, with the court filing moving up, the next step, regardless of whatever results
37:36the NFL decides to take, would be taking him off the exempt list, which that would then precede him to be able to, you know, I guess, play.
37:44He wouldn't be playing this week under any circumstance.
37:47But no necessarily news, I guess, out there, but just a little bit more clarity on the pathway of what's going on.
37:54Because the next step is either the NFL takes him off the exempt list and then decides at a later effect of
38:01what the suspension is going to be, or they refuse to take him off the exempt list with whatever suspension and those coincide each other.
38:08And it sounds like they might coincide each other.
38:11Do you have a prediction for what his suspension could look like?
38:14Do you have a lien? I think, oh man, I don't know.
38:18I mean, I got to say the whole like public property thing is weird.
38:22I'm not sure I'm aware of all of that.
38:25Without the video, it's impossible to tell because it's like...
38:28Well, that's the thing that's the smoking gun, right?
38:31Where, I mean, if that gets dropped and it's, I mean, as bad as people have...
38:36I don't know who's seen the video. I don't know what's on the video, but everyone that knows about the video says
38:42it's absolutely horrible and it's career ending for Josh Jacobs.
38:45So that's always in the back of my mind.
38:48That's worst case scenario for anyone that's, you know, invested in Josh Jacobs and fantasy football.
38:53I would say at a minimum, I think that he's going to be suspended at least for six games.
38:59I would say a misdemeanor battery charge has to probably leave the six games.
39:03So Nick in the chat is suggesting that the property damage is related to Jacobs throwing her phone, breaking it.
39:09And that's kind of what's alluded to the property damage.
39:12But again, there's a lot of stuff that we don't know.
39:15And there's the video where that's the biggest question mark in terms of could it be career ending?
39:21That's the rumor that that's what that is. So I think he's going to be suspended for at least six games.
39:27I think minimum eight games, probably more likely. And we don't know when that will actually take place.
39:33But I would assume that because they moved the court date up where it was supposed to be in November, that we'll get news sooner rather than later.
39:41But at this time, it seems like nothing has progressed immensely.
39:45I agree with you on that. You know, not having obviously legal knowledge of these things.
39:49I think whatever it is, it will be agreed upon beforehand.
39:53And there'll be no like him pushing against it.
39:55It will be they come to the table, let's say, with 10.
39:59They want six. They meet at eight or nine.
40:02And then they all accept it. And it comes down.
40:05And I don't know if it'll come down any time when it'll come down.
40:09I assume the taking responsibility on the suspension and not fighting it would be a part of it happening soon.
40:15But just wanted to mention that because that might be on people's minds.
40:19It was on the 10th. I just saw Adam Schefter and just everybody, Ian Rapoport, everybody is tweeting about it.
40:25And that's as best as we all know that's out there.
40:28All right. We got some more questions in here.
40:31Let's go to Michael. Michael, premium member on the Fantasy Pros Discord.
40:35What's up, Michael? Yeah. So I'm in a 12-man PPR league.
40:38And my draft strategy was to go late with QB and tight end.
40:42So I have Kyler Murray and Juwan Johnson. I was wondering what you guys think about if I have Kenny Gainwell and Rashad White on my bench.
40:50If I were to drop them and pick up Tyler Sott or whatever his last name is.
40:55And transfer. You mean Shuck? Yeah. Tyler Shuck? Oh, OK.
40:59Yeah. Saints for the Saints. No, I would personally just stick with Kyler.
41:02I mean, you drafted him instead of Tyler Shuck.
41:05So. Yep. And Juwan. I would see. Yeah. And long term, Juwan's not even a question over.
41:10Yeah. Ferguson. For sure. But Ferguson is strictly a stash player.
41:14Right. We don't know what his expanded role is going to be.
41:17So you can't pick him up and think, oh, he'll immediately produce.
41:21Yeah. It's not even something to think about right now because Juwan Johnson's in like a phenomenal spot for this week one.
41:28And yeah, Tyler. I mean, I have Kyler Murray quite a bit over Tyler Shuck.
41:32I get yelled at every time I do a video on Kyler Murray.
41:36But it's just like the running upside is there.
41:39Like I like Shuck. And I know, you know, Debro's been on all the channels and he's talked about, you know, how
41:45there was a time where he thought, you know, the rant or the the Saints could be this like powerhouse Rams old school offensive.
41:53But they've lost pieces. They got lots of injuries.
41:55They're banged up. I'm just not sure I'm sold on it being a powerhouse.
42:00So it's I would clearly stick with the guys that you got.
42:03Ox. Moocs. What's up? How do I say that?
42:06Moocs. OK, Moocs. I got a second. Sorry. What's up, dude?
42:09Yeah, I need you guys to tell me if I'm just being dumb.
42:13Need to pull the trigger on this dynasty trade or not.
42:17It'd be my Brock Purdy. Who's like my QB three.
42:20Devante Smith and a 27 first for Fernando Mendoza and Jamar Chase.
42:23Oh, OK. So, again, it's Purdy, a 2020. Devante Smith.
42:26Devante Smith. Purdy, a 27 first and Devante for Jamar and Mendoza.
42:30Just as a quick aside, what's your level of competitiveness this year?
42:34Top three squad. OK. And who's your backup quarterback?
42:36Well, so it's two QB dynasty. So Purdy is probably my three.
42:40I mean, I got Drake May and Trevor Lawrence.
42:43Oh, yeah. So. And Geno. Yeah. Easy trade. You can get an elite player like Jamar Chase, which usually those guys more often are almost untouchable in dynasty.
42:51You just the manager says, I don't really care what you have to offer.
42:56I just don't trade those types of players. And the fact that you can get Jamar Chase for that type of deal.
43:02Again, you're giving up good pieces, but that's why this is a deal that's realistic.
43:07So I will always take the best player available.
43:09And if I look at my dynasty rank, I'm pretty sure Jamar Chase is like a number thick by fourth ranked overall player in dynasty.
43:17He's still relatively unattached to Joe Burrow. So I would.
43:20Yeah, I like that. I love it. And also your 27 first.
43:24It should be late if you're a top three team and you didn't.
43:28You didn't change anything in that trade that alters your win now, except to get better.
43:33You upgraded Smith to Chase. Mendoza is just your backup quarterback to your starters, which is going to be maybe two weeks of the season.
43:40And you improved your wide receiver course. So that first round pick should be late.
43:45Hot, really hard to get guy. I mean, think about this.
43:48When's the last time you've seen a guy like Jamar Chase or JSN in a dynasty get traded and it doesn't involve a top 25, 30, 40 play.
43:56You know what I'm saying? Like Purdy Smith and a first to get Jamar Chase.
44:01Yeah, dude. And a young quarterback in Mendoza. I love that one.
44:05I love that. Bryce Saratops was in a little bit earlier, had a question, was able to make it back.
44:11What's up, Bryce? I'm a bit scared of Drake London because of the whole Tua situation.
44:16I got my other flex options are Jalen Warren, Christian Watson.
44:19Is it still London or should I pick one of those guys over him?
44:23It's still London for me. Always. It's always London.
44:26Too much volume. Yeah. I mean, even with bad quarterback play, it's just still it's like the ball should be going to him.
44:33None. So I mean, I don't hate like there's options.
44:36You have good ish options. I love Waddle. There's also a chance that Tua doesn't even play because like I said earlier,
44:43I think right before we started recording the latest report we got from the athletic Falcons quarterback to a tongue of Viola
44:49appeared to suffer discomfort during individual throwing drills Thursday and briefly went to the ground.
44:54So that means Jack Strand could potentially play. Cooper Rush could potentially play.
44:58And what do we see when these backup quarterbacks come in?
45:01They just hyper target their first read. Yep. Who is Drake London?
45:05And there's still a chance. I think, Welsh, you mentioned this because I was the low man on Drake London in our
45:11ranking show because I was afraid that Tua was going to start.
45:15Joey Porter Jr. might not play. Yeah. So the rumors been he says he's not going to play if he doesn't have his contract extension.
45:23So and I guess the old playbook was don't play week one and then jump out of week two.
45:28So I'm not expecting him to play. Yeah. So I think there's just too much volume for Drake London.
45:34And we like Christian Watson. Still want to see how things kind of shake out.
45:39It's definitely more crowded in Green Bay's receiver room.
45:41Tucker Craft's going to play. You have Jaden Reed.
45:44You have Matthew Golden. It's the Vikings. So not necessarily the greatest matchup.
45:48And then Jalen Warren, it just to me is you want to bank as many like you want to be safe.
45:54I guess Jalen Warren feels safe. But I think London still has a pretty high floor with you should see 10, 12 targets.
46:01Now, if you were going to do it, it would be Waddle over Watson.
46:06I think that would be. I don't think Waddle was an option.
46:09Just Watson. Oh, was it? Oh, I thought it was Waddle.
46:13OK, well, his brain's just done then. I swear I thought I saw because he had typed in the question earlier.
46:19But if it's just Watson, then it's not even a question.
46:22If Waddle was part of it. Yeah. Oh, yeah.
46:25It's Jalen Warren. You're right. I'm just a stupid idiot.
46:28In defense of everybody, this has been a weird week.
46:31I don't think anybody thought last night was Wednesday because that was weird.
