Devon Booth is a viable handcuff candidate in Cleveland. Waldman notes he is shifty, quick, and possesses competent contact balance. His ability to earn carries in the preseason and survive roster cuts suggests he could grow into a committee role if an injury occurs.PositiveProjectionApr 1, 2026
Mississippi State back initially characterized as a more explosive Kyle Manang guy without Manang's relentless power in the open field; has a low center of gravity and uses footwork well to bounce off hits from linebackers and safeties, works through reaches, wards off contact with his stiff arm, and can pull through wraps. Beyond that comparison, Booth's creative skill in the open field while operating at a good rate of speed and his curvilinear movement reminded the source of Dalvin Cook and Khalil Herbert—accomplished runners between the tackles who can break big play runs. As a receiver, Booth was more reliable than Herbert and more dynamic than Cook; he can take contact while adjusting to targets that lack pinpoint accuracy. Combining the best of Manang, Herbert, and Cook yields a back of JK Dobbins caliber.
