Dart ranks first among five quarterbacks making their Tiers debuts and earned a Tier 3 rating with an upward arrow from one GM, despite concerns about his aggressive playing style. Dart was evaluated for concussions four times in his first nine starts (plus once in preseason) but doubled down on his aggressive approach. Defensive coaches rated him higher than offensive coaches, valuing his athleticism, playmaking ability, and splash plays over consistency. Dart led all 33 qualifying quarterbacks in percentage of plays involving designed rushes, scrambles, sacks, or hits (33.7%, above the 22% average). One GM noted upside but expressed durability concerns: "I'm going to give Jaxson a nudge and give him a 3, arrow up, but he is not going to change his style of play, so that is where I'm like, 'I don't know if this guy is going to last.'" Offensive coordinator Matt Nagy's ability to harness Dart's playmaking could determine whether Dart returns to head-coaching consideration.PositiveProjectionNo date
Dart is stylistically similar to Sorsby as a tough, athletic option quarterback who prefers throwing outside, but Dart's deep accuracy is much better. Dart came from a system that required him to get through multiple progressions and stretched the field with downfield shots. Dart was the better prospect overall, didn't have off-field issues, and was a late first-round draft pick, making him a useful comparison point for evaluating Sorsby's prospect profile.PositiveProjectionNo date
Dart's rookie season performance metrics rank favorably among fellow rookie starters since 2020 (minimum 200 attempts): No. 6 in EPA per attempt (.04), No. 8 in EPA/dropback (.08), No. 2 in off-target rate (8.6 percent), No. 3 in EPA/pressure, and No. 6 in time to throw. Despite starting only 12 games, he posted 24 total touchdowns (15 passing, 9 rushing on 487 yards at 5.7 yards per carry). His greatest and most repeatable asset is natural accuracy; since 2020, only Joe Burrow has a better off-target rate among rookie starters, and Dart ranks No. 1 among the eight NFL starting QBs who rushed at least 75 times last season. He throws with a calm, grounded base and quick, smooth motion; changes speeds; mixes angles; and delivers a very catchable ball at every level. His accuracy was good enough to overcome pocket hiccups and late deliveries on downfield in-breakers. His starting point development-wise is much further along than many feared coming out of college; he showed on his Ole Miss tape an ability to process full-field reads. Health permitting, expect a sizable jump from Dart, who has the ability to finally give the Giants the franchise QB for whom they've been searching.
