Think a big takeaway for me last night is stock down on Josh Mcdaniels He tips his hand with personnel all night and then has 0 creativity for AJ Brown (95%+ routes outside, no fun slot/motion usage) It was vs SEA but this could be a big step back given the jump in SOS [Retweeted](PositiveNewsSep 10, 2026
It seemed very clear to me last night that the Patriots plan in the passing game was to essentially run everything back from a concept and design standpoint that we saw last year but with a talent advantage at X receiver now in AJ Brown. They were going to be threading a needle doing so, even with Brown and without him for a few weeks and likely diminished when he does return, you gotta leave Week 1 with some big questions. Stribling is going to be a rotational / situational player to begin the year. Wouldn't be the least bit surprised if his usage was similar to AJ Brown as a Rookie. Brown didn't hit 50% snap share in until week 5 & didn't have over 5 targets in a contest until week 7. Splashed early then earned a cornerstone offensive role. Stribling is *likely* not Brown, but where he operates as well as his down to down usage may be similar. [Retweeted](PositiveNewsAug 19, 2026
sorry if you’re tired of hearing me say it. you’re overthinking AJ in New England the same way you overthought Pickens in Dallas. [Retweeted](PositiveDepth ChartJul 28, 2026
I have an extremely bold and controversial take: the Patriots should not trade Kayshon Boutte, play him besides A.J. Brown and Romeo Doubs, and simply have a very good receiving room [Retweeted](
