Yahoo Fantasy Football on Deebo Samuel
From the article
Most weeks when a receiver has (checks notes) zero targets, he isn't likely to come away with 80 yards and a score.
STACKED’s take
Samuel's TD-dependent early success is unsustainable; sell for younger alternatives.
Samuel is a sell candidate despite strong early-season production (WR15 in fppg, 15+ fantasy points in three of four games since rejoining the 49ers). His success is unsustainable due to age-related decline risk at 30 years old and inflated scoring from three touchdowns, including an 80-yard hook-and-ladder. Most weeks a receiver with zero targets doesn't score 80 yards and a touchdown. Injuries have artificially boosted his production, but Christian Kirk could be activated from IR soon and rookie De'Zhaun Stribling is expected back down the stretch, which will reduce Samuel's opportunities. Trade him away for younger players with more reliable season-long upside.
