Watson's late-August starter designation marks his return after 19 games since 2020.

Watson was named the Browns starter in late August after spending the past five years away from football due to suspension, shoulder surgery, and two Achilles tendon ruptures that sidelined him since October 2024. He was only given a chance for redemption in the final season of his contract because of salary cap ramifications, but has now found success under first-year head coach Todd Monken.
