From the episode

Michael Mayer, I thought like the stats are not great... but like he played a really good game, I thought, and was like a useful piece for them.

STACKED’s take

Positive signalRole

Mayer is a valuable, reliable piece in the Raiders' multi-TE scheme.

Despite modest stats (6 catches for 30-something yards), Mayer played a vital role as a reliable chain-mover and blocker. His contract is market-appropriate for a 'do-it-all' Y-tight end, and he will remain a key piece in the Raiders' 12-personnel heavy offense even after Brock Bowers returns.
