Mile High Report on Davis Webb

Webb loses play-calling duties; Payton takes over amid offensive struggles.

Davis Webb's play-calling duties have been removed after four games; Sean Payton is taking over play-calling for the Chargers game. Webb will retain his offensive coordinator title and continue leading offensive meetings and mentoring the quarterback trio, but the offensive struggles—erratic passing attack, uncommitted running game, and bottom-of-league offensive rankings—prompted the change. Webb acknowledged the team's talent and offseason additions made the early-season performance a significant surprise and expressed confidence the offense is 'extremely, extremely close' to executing properly, citing near-misses in the pass and run games in recent contests.
