I know this sounds dumb because very rarely are we hinging our quarterback starts based on wide receiver availability, but I do think that honestly Chase and Higgins are a big enough deal. Even if T. Higgins were to play, I don't know if we start T. Higgins cuz we have seen in the past like Higgins come out in a game in which he probably shouldn't have played and He's clearly just a decoy.
STACKED’s take
Uncertain status; avoid if playing as decoy; key to QB decision vs. Cobb.
Higgins' availability is a key factor in quarterback selection between Burrow and Cobb; if both Higgins and Jamar Chase miss, Cobb becomes the preferred start despite Burrow's offense projecting slightly higher. Higgins' status is uncertain; even if he were to play, the source suggests not starting him given the strength of other flex options like Brevin Allen. Higgins has a history of playing as a decoy in games he shouldn't have played in; the source advises benching him even if he plays, citing past instances where he returned from injury but was ineffective. However, this is an exception—for 99% of teams with Higgins, starting him if he plays is mandatory. If both Tee Higgins and Jamarr Chase miss, a pivot from the default tight end play to Gaseki is recommended.
