Goff sacked repeatedly on early drives; only 10 points scored on sack drives all season
Jared Goff has been sacked repeatedly on early-game drives across five games this season, severely limiting offensive efficiency in the first quarter. Versus the Jets, Goff was sacked twice over the opening pair of drives; versus the Cardinals, he was sacked on each of the first three drives en route to a three-and-out. Across all five games, the Lions have scored only 10 points on drives in which Goff was sacked (a field goal versus the Saints in the fourth quarter and a touchdown versus the Bills in the dying minutes). The source identifies a clear trend: when the Lions offense falls behind the sticks due to negative plays like sacks, they sputter, and early-game sacks are killing drives and first-quarter scoring.
