Samaje Perine was the Cincinnati Bengals' leading rusher on Sunday against the Miami Dolphins, and he provided a spark that this ground game hasn't had enough of so far this year. Perine led Bengals rushing with 4.9 YPC; source backs 60-40 split with Brown.

Perine was the Bengals' leading rusher against Miami with 14 carries for 68 yards (4.9 YPC), the highest yards-per-carry for a Cincinnati running back this season; he also added 2 receptions for 10 yards and a touchdown. The source argues that a 60-40 carry split between Perine and Chase Brown makes sense going forward, with flexibility to favor whichever back is hotter week-to-week. Perine is characterized as a dependable, chain-moving player who consistently converts opportunities despite lacking elite speed or elusiveness.
