Mile High Report on Bo Nix
From the article
"I don't understand why we can't really push the ball vertically right now. Defenses are just sitting back there hanging out... We're just going to keep running the football."
STACKED’s take
Nix frustrated by inability to push ball vertically; offense inconsistent despite second-quarter dominance.
After the Broncos' win over Seattle, Nix acknowledged the offense's inconsistency and inability to push the ball vertically downfield. Despite a dominant 25-play stretch in the second quarter featuring two touchdown drives with successful screen passes, consistent rushing, and red-zone execution, the offense produced six three-and-outs and required defensive turnovers to secure the game-winning field goal in overtime. Nix stated: "I don't understand why we can't really push the ball vertically right now. Defenses are just sitting back there hanging out." He attributed the vertical passing struggles to defensive coverage schemes (short Cover-2 shells) and indicated the offense would continue relying on the running game, suggesting limited vertical passing opportunities and offensive inconsistency remain concerns despite the win.
