Vele is Saints' slot receiver solution; Shough's favorite target on third-and-long.

Saints receiver acquired via fourth-round pick from Denver last year has emerged as the contested-catch slot receiver the team has been searching for since Michael Thomas. Vele has become one of Tyler Shough's favorite targets and a go-to option on third-and-long situations. For a six-foot-five receiver, he displays remarkable body control and movement. He and Juwan Johnson have also been effective in the red zone. Expected to continue garnering more attention as the season progresses.
