Smith sacked twice early, threw first INT of season in fourth quarter

Smith was sacked twice on the Jets' second drive, forcing them back to their own three-yard line and leading to a punt from the end zone; this poor field position directly contributed to the Patriots' scoring opportunity. Later in the game, Smith threw an ill-advised interception on a moon ball in the fourth quarter, his first of the season, which put the Jets in a hole they could not recover from.
