Pride Of Detroit on Jordan Love
From the article
He went 8-for-12 for 100 yards and one sack against the blitz... His season-long stats are a little more tame, ranking 13th in EPA/dropback (+0.03), 12th in yards per attempt (8.1), and 11th in passer rating (104.2) against the blitz
STACKED’s take
Love excels on blitzes but struggles without them; Lions should avoid blitzing.
Packers QB Jordan Love torched Dallas on blitz plays despite the Cowboys producing a 53.8% pressure rate; he went 8-for-12 for 100 yards and one sack against the blitz with 8.4 yards per attempt (sixth-highest) and +0.43 EPA/dropback (second-highest) in Week 6. Season-long against the blitz, Love ranks 13th in EPA/dropback (+0.03), 12th in yards per attempt (8.1), and 11th in passer rating (104.2). However, his statistics are much worse with no blitz: 23rd in passer rating (84.4), 17th in yards per attempt (7.1), and 17th in EPA/dropback (+0.05). Given that the Lions produce the seventh-highest pressure rate without blitzing (35.5%) and the Packers allow the sixth-highest pressure rate on non-blitz plays (36.2%), Detroit's game plan should focus on creating pressure without extra defenders.
