Hogs Haven on Jayden Daniels
From the article
With two minutes left in the game and down six points... Daniels' decision to try to hit Burks at the edge of the end zone on a low-percentage throw as opposed to throwing to running back Rachaad White in the left flat, or just running the ball himself… well, that was questionable... On the penalty, even when you know there's a penalty, you still take your shot, man, to go throw it, complete it.

Daniels' late-game decision-making and penalty awareness need work; coach Quinn addressing execution
Despite strong individual performance, Daniels' situational awareness and decision-making have been problematic. With two minutes left down six points from the SF 17-yard line on fourth-and-3, he threw a low-percentage pass to Treylon Burks at the edge of the end zone instead of dumping to Rachaad White in the left flat or running the ball himself, with the 49ers having downfield targets locked down in man coverage. With 21 seconds left from the SF 28-yard line on second-and-10, offensive coordinator David Blough called four verts with all targets running nowhere near the sideline; Daniels threw the ball away for an intentional grounding penalty, a 12-yard loss, and a 10-second runoff. On fourth-and-2 from the SF 13-yard line with 13:08 left in the first half, Daniels threw the ball away when flushed from the pocket with three defenders closing in, even though there was an illegal shift penalty on the Commanders that would have given him a free play. Head coach Dan Quinn told him postgame: 'On the penalty, even when you know there's a penalty, you still take your shot, man, to go throw it, complete it. You don't know if it's gonna get picked up.'
