Winston's four-game start ended as McCarthy earned the starting role

Jameis Winston started four games for the Giants after Jaxson Dart's Week 2 injury, but was leapfrogged by J.J. McCarthy, who earned the starting role against the Texans. Winston's pocket-passer profile limited the Giants' offensive scheme compared to Dart's dual-threat ability, resulting in the loss of approximately 30 percent of the playbook.
