FantasyPros Articles on J.J. McCarthy
From the article
McCarthy finished as the QB12 in fantasy last week with ONLY ONE QUARTER OF FOOTBALL PLAYED! That's absolutely insane...McCarthy is a solid QB2 this week who could easily post QB1 numbers.
STACKED’s take
McCarthy is a solid QB2 who could post QB1 numbers after impressive one-quarter debut.
J.J. McCarthy came in for Jameis Winston in the fourth quarter last week and almost led the team back to victory, amassing 243 passing yards, one passing score, and 26 rushing yards in less than a quarter, finishing as QB12 in fantasy with only one quarter of football played. Among 29 qualifying passers last week, McCarthy ranked first in yards per attempt, ninth in passing success rate, and first in hero throw rate. While not expecting this weekly as the new starting quarterback, McCarthy is a solid QB2 this week who could easily post QB1 numbers against Houston (15th in yards per attempt allowed, 14th in passing touchdown rate allowed, 15th in passing success rate allowed, 12th-best pressure rate, 20th in quick pressure rate), with an offensive line that has allowed the 11th-lowest pressure rate.
