he could've worked on things over the Chargers' bye and be playable in Week 8 against the Rams. If the offense sputters again, offensive coordinator Mike McDaniel is almost definitely getting fired, which could be good for Herbert.

STACKED’s take

Positive signalValue

Herbert is a pennies-on-dollar buy if McDaniel firing could spark offensive turnaround.

The source frames Herbert as a buy-low only if acquired for minimal cost, betting he could be playable in Week 8 against the Rams after the Chargers' bye. The underlying thesis is that if the offense sputters again, offensive coordinator Mike McDaniel is almost definitely getting fired, which could improve Herbert's situation. This is positioned as potentially the last buy-low window of the year.
